Hi all - thanks to all who sent in comments - much appreciated! Well, we've rattled round Perth pretty fast in the last couple of days It was, of course, Anzac Day on Monday as we arrived (and hence they had Easter Monday yesterday - Tuesday) - but unfortunately we missed all the parades due to being zonked. Still, lots of jollity all round with the Navy in town and lots of blokes of all ages wandering around town with chests full of medals. They take it very seriously here - rightly so I guess. The weather was great and we took in a walking tour to check out the wide range of architecture - sorry still not cracked the picture loading business. Hello All, Three days in Hong Kong have gone in a somewhat jet-lagged flash (C: for Steve, anyway - I never seem to be bothered by it) but we've had a great time. We're writing this from the Qantas lounge as we wait to depart for Perth. The flight over was uneventful and Steve insisted on using the new (well it was new last time we were here) Airport express to get into town from the brilliant airport at Chep Lap Kok. Having flogged our way to the hotel it was 5 pm - the day after we left - but we decided to freshen up, dig deep, and head out to to a night market over on the Kowloon side. Welcome to Steve ‘n’ Cathy’s travel blog. We’re off around the world (for the third time it has to be said) so we’re calling it RTW3. This first blog entry is to set the scene. Where are we going? We’re going to revisit some old favorites and some new places. Here’s the itinerary in summary. 1) A few days in Hong Kong to revisit old haunts and get over the worst of the jet lag. 2) Then on to Perth, Western Australia – never been, so 5 days there. 3) Across to Sydney – this is a return visit but we were there first in 1994.
