Coronavirus Thank you, Tim! Extremely interesting and well researched. As you say, we simply have to wait and see and hope. In the meantime, we are exercising every day, enjoying our lovely view, reading, watching selected tv, doing numerous maintenance tasks, enjoy the peace and tranquility. No good worrying as we are powerless ??
Thanks Tim. Always a good read. Some scary, worrying times but thanks for the positive spin and ideas. For some of us there is still work to do, but when work dries up things will take an even more drastic turn.
Covid-19 Hi Jeff Thank you. Covid-19 has ensured a huge spike in Birthday messages. Gadgets, people and lots of time. Hope all good with you and Liezl. Take care.
Scary Tim - but that's often the case when one looks at the reality of the situation! I agree - the world as we know it will never be the same!. Thanks for sharing your insights - much food for thought. By the way, many happy returns, and you and your family stay safe! Best, Charles and Avril
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!! Hey Tim, Deb's and I wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the 1st April. No, it's not April fools day, it's a reality. The world that we knew will never be the same again. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the spoils.
Love from Deb's and Norm
PS : Don't stop writing
Covid-19 Thanks Norm. An unusual day for a birthday and this crazy virus adds to the April Fool twist! Another year younger...that's what we all need to cherish. Take care. Love to Debs.
It's like we are actors in a new movie being shot, with the script being written daily, and we living it out on receipt, and daily events influencing the next days script!
Enjoyed the history lesson and your insights into the future - very much in agreement. Find a new hobby and keep on eye on your finances -good time to read and learn.
Covid-19 Hi Brettie
Interesting times. All I know is that this shite is going to get a lot worse before we see any improvement. Keep your head below the parapet.
Travels in a small world Hi Tim - I thought I would advise that your blog is being enjoyed here in Brisbane, on the worthy advice of Pete Swanepoel. Mentioning the village of Yamba to him on an email this week (a mutual friend is currently surfing and Kombi-vanning around Yamba) triggered Pete to point me your blog. DGW Barker and I qualified together (roughly). A few rowdy Saturday afternoon sessions in the 80’s watching TV sport at his and / or your place come to mind. Jumping around 3 decades, in March 2017 Wendy and I were coincidentally also in Christchurch, Oamaru, Alexandra, and the rest of central Otago at the same time as you were. More recently, I went across the ditch to cycle some of the Otago rail trail in Feb 2019. Anyhow a good couple of hours spent reading of your travels – and a bit more to go - really enjoyable - thanks! / Steve Reed
Thanks Hi Steve Thanks for your message. Good to hear from you. We also did a trip to NZ in 2017 and there is a blog on that journey as well. Now in planning mode for 2020...thinking either Route 66 in USA or Canada. Take care.
