Tiphaine
Tif tacks and the chocolate trip
Tiphaine
"Biography"...Well this is quite a big word for a small life !
Prelude...
After months of hesitation, I eventually made my decision and dared asking my boss for a sabbatical leave. I always wanted to go travelling round the world, just could not find the courage to actually do it, leave everything behind me and above all do it on my own. Somehow I think I was waiting to meet the right person(s) to share my dream, before admitting that it was my own, my personal adventure and that only me could make me go. How long going for? Where to? What for? I was often watching the world map, imagining trips and itineraries that would take me everywhere. I guess a life wouldn't have been long enough! So I went for a compromise and asked for a 6 month leave concentrated on two geographical areas: South America (Peru, Bolivia, Chili and Argentina) and South East Asia (Thailande, Cambodia and...who knows).
Now, I've packed half of my stuff, I'm one week work left and 3 before flying to Lima. Here we come. Dream turning reality.
For those who don't know me, I'm Tiphaine, but people call me Tif and I think I'll stick to it while travelling. .
I'm a little Bretonne who grew up in Morlaix before going studying to Vannes, Rennes, Italy and Paris. Love Brittany, France, but also living abroad - which I have been doing now for 6 years in England between Brighton and London.
I'm the second of a three children family and we are very close with my sister and brother. I'm also the lucky auntie of my two adorable nephews who I'm gonna miss so much during these six months. Of course my parents will worry, but they are very supportive and I really appreciate this.
This trip is a real adventure for me. And it comes at a time where I probably need the most to connect with myself. Discovering the world or the real me? Time will tell. For the keen reader that I am, I could only close this page with this quote from Saint Augustin:
"The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page".
Soon will start my novel...ready for the take off?
