Part II
Pre-travel prep - Lonely Planet and internet. Never seem to do as much in advance as we think we will. We were interested in Holland because of the bicycling opportunities that would be enjoyable, but not intense. Purchased used bikes in Amsterdam, and then donated to local soup kitchen at end of the trip. We picked dates based on our schedule at home and time of year/weather. We do a general plan of how long in a country or area far in advance to get plane tickets. We don't do day to day schedule until in country. We relied primarily on Lonely Planet, two camping in Europe guides, and site information we picked up along the way to determine where to go. Planned to go to Denmark so once in Holland researched sites in NE Holland to stop at en route to and from Denmark. How long we stay in one place depends on weather and what we find when we get there. Very flexible schedule. We did not use any social media to plan or execute this trip. Hope this is helpful to you.
