Sunset bliss....
Some unreal sunset photos here guys, nice blog. How good is siquijor, brings back some good memories. Nice to know there is a good backpacker option on the island as opposed to the expensive but luxurious coco grove. Can't wait to get back there next year.

Hi to you both... Just some feedback on your blog. My wife and I have been able to relate to you guys and your travels really well. We have loved following you on this trip and reading all of your blogs. It gives us a quick escape from the grind of everyday life. It has certainly helped to solidify our travel plans for 12 months during 2014 through SEE Asia. Keep the awesome tips and stories coming. Flat tyres!
Ha, Lao tuk tuks must have very flimsy tyres - we remember getting a flat tyre doing the same journey to the falls back in 2007! We are quite shocked at the prices you are quoting, it did used to be a lot cheaper than that - especially the restaurants. Huge groups of Chinese tourists seem to now be the norm for the whole of SE Asia and is a possible explanation for increasing prices. If we remember correctly though, most things in Laos are imported from Thailand, so as prices for things there have increased it has probably had a knock-on effect on Laos.

I have been wanting to go to Pai for years, because it is such a legendary hippy haunt. I'm glad to hear it is still nice there, because I didn't get around to going yet. Next year maybe. The Andaman Islands is this year. :)

I've made my flight reservations to arrive in Beijing on 22 March...
I will meet my son there and then take trains everywhere. I've heard that they don't sell tickets until a couple days before a departure. I want to make sure I get specific trains between Beijing, Pinyao, Xian, Lanzhou, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, and Urumqi. How far in advance can I make reservations and is it best to go through a travel agent? Details on buying train tickets would be appreciated!

We have been so lucky with the weather in Nam, it's been sunny and hot every day really even now in Nha Trang where it should be monsoon season! Bet you guys can't wait to get away next month now, we will be in Thailand from Dec 17th for a month, would be great to catch up! We will be on the islands for Xmas and new year prob then work back up to Bkk and up north to Chiang Mai so let us know your plans when you know x
