Yeahhh this is La Paz
I'm sure you had the best time of your lives,the cholitas wrestling and the Horse back riding were AWESOME if you are reading this and you are going t o La Paz probably you'll like to have the "bolivian experience with locals", there's a page in Facebook that is useful and the owner is a local that speaks English Spanish French and Italian and will take you through paths that lonely planet or other guides wont, It's called "Tours and something else" Hope this is useful for travelers. https://www.facebook.com/ToursAndSomethingElse

Bad eggs...
Don't let a couple of bad eggs ruin the rest of your time in Thailand or put you off going back. 95% of Thais are genuinely honest and kind people but that remaining 5% happen to be in over-touristed places like Phi Phi and give the others a bad name. We have had a few experiences like you, once in Ao Nang where a watch vendor tried to hit Neil because he asked for the price to be lowered and the other just a week ago where a car hire guy tried to say we damaged his car when we didn't and scam money from us. Koh Lanta is a lovely island, hopefully you will enjoy the rest of your time in Thailand.

Looks like you found a party beach
Sounds like you had to search for Thai food. You can't argue with the weather Gods. Not your kind of town but sounds like you were able to get some needed rest.

Sick tabs
Boat trip sounds horrendous.... I get motion sick a lot, but I absolutely swear by taking motion sick tablets from the chemist, they really seem to work for me. Just make sure you take them about 30 minutes BEFORE getting on a boat/bus/plane/train, because if you get sick then try to take them, it's too late.

Sorry about the bad weather...
but the company made up for it...and a reason to return. I favor the secluded over the over commercialized too.

Been following your trip and glad to hear you guys are enjoying the Philippines. I just can't help but comment on your photos. I mean, those sunset photos are ridiculously insane! Enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels to you both. Btw, I think you guys would likewise enjoy Palawan :-)
