At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and can't wait to leave this cold weather. I made it safely to the airport from my hotel via bus, which was super easy and comparatively easier than taking the train to Amsterdam Central Station and the tram. I am looking forward to the sunshine in Thailand. I'll be stopping over in Moscow and wish I had a 2 day layover so I can check out the city. Regardless, I have a 12 hour 30 minute flight ahead of me :( Time to catch up on sleep and read the Hunger Games! x PS. The airport is funny. You do your security checks in front of your gate rather than the entrance to all gates.... read more

I've spent the last two days in the capital of the Netherlands and I must say, the city is gorgeous! Getting here was a bit stressful as for a brief moment, I thought I was going to miss another travel reservation! Russell drove me to the airport and we left quite early, giving ourselves good amount of time to get to Heathrow. On our way, we came across an accident and had to take a detour on a road he had never took. Additionally, I didn't know my terminal, so we went to the wrong one, and had to drive to another terminal. Luckily, I made it in time with 30 minutes to spare :) Once arrived, it was pretty darn good. We landed early and I took the train from the airport to Amsterdam Central ... read more

I am so so happy I am in Chichester. There is something about this place that makes me feel like I'm home again. I have spent many days and many nights in Chi, and whenever I am back in this town, I can't help but smile. =) I have many friends here, many of whom I consider my second family. I am currently staying with my friend Jody and her roommate Giles (both who are awesome). I took the train from London and made my way to Chichester, which brought back many memories of what I used to do often back when I was living in the UK. She picked me up and we headed straight to the Chichester canal. I had no idea a canal existed in this town! It was quite nice as the ... read more

Another 2am night and I guess I'm still suffering from the jetlag. Regardless, I had a wonderful day catching up with old friends whom I haven't seen in years! I awoke and had a nice English breakfast filled with eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, toast, beans and of course, some brown sauce. It was quite nice and went really well with my cup of tea and orange juice. I got ready and headed out to meet a good friend of mine, Richard. I think the last time I saw him was in 2006 when I was living in London. Since then, he's gotten married, had a cute baby girl, and is training for his first marathon! I gave him his gift (a book on running) and we ate at a lovely pub where I had a chicken ... read more

It's 1am and I'm eating a midnight snack courtesy of Paul's (a yummy sandwich), Walker's Thai Sweet Chilli Potato Chips (my absolute fav flavor) and decaf coffee on my nice double bed in my nice hotel in the nice area of south kensington in central london. Its been a long day of traveling and I couldn't believe I made it to London! Why? So here goes the story... This morning, I took the train from Paris to London via Eurostar. I had booked this ticket a month prior for a really good price of $133, but the only catch was that it was non-refundable/transferable. So what? It's not like I would miss another train from Paris to London like I did previously. Little did I know....it would happen again! I told Aure that my train was ... read more

Where do I even begin? It's 2:45am and Aurelie's wedding was a 2 day event. We started off on Saturday, April 7 with a Chinese tradition of the fiancee coming over to the house and paying red envelopes to get to his future wife, in this case Aurelie! Richard and his friends paved their way and made their dues, paying envelope after envelope to get to Aurelie. When he reached his bride, they did their prayers and headed over to Richard's house where we would have lunch. When it came time to 4pm, we then made our way to the city hall where they officially became man and wife. It was a bit different than most American weddings, as it seems this was the most important day vs. our usual wedding ceremony. As soon as that ... read more

Bonjour everyone! I made it safely to France after a long, long flight! The lovely Dawnabelle took me to LAX after I had my yummy last supper of belgian waffles. I didn't sleep at all on the plane and sat next to some really cool people along the way: one who was an older lady who had traveled a bit when she was younger and a french student who was doing an internship in Richmond, VA as well as playing soccer. Aurelie picked me up and we went straight to eat some pho! It was yummy, although they use different type of noodles. And of course, we went to say hello to her mom and dad and went to IKEA! Haha...had to pick up some stuff for the wedding tomorrow! I can't wait! Tomorrow and Sunday ... read more

Wow. I can't believe time has flown by so fast! I have only less than 2 days to get everything sorted for my big trip, and I still feel like I have so much to do prior to my departure. I have done most of my errands, saw my niece Sarah, and have done my trial run for packing! I'm knackered more so than stressed. If worse comes to worse and I forget something, then I'm sure I can find it in another country. I'm all on my own on this trip, which will be a time when I can reflect on my life, put the past in the past, and look forward to what is in store for me in the future!... read more
