Manu
I almost drowned in Manu - really!! The river was up by 1 meter and we tried to cross by canoe, with a 10-yr old driving... everyone survived although people were swept a few 100s of meters. The chicken (=dinner) died... Nevertheless it's spectacular!

FASCINANTE
SAMY.

Great report !
Hi Sapirs, great report Nitzan ! First I read the report and then watched the pictures and so could really get the hang of things that you sow and went through. I was amazed by the trees - their size, the roots and the place they grow. The parrots colors looks unreal. One picture in particular caught my eye - forest mushrooms (as we call them here) I have a great recipe for a salad using these mushrooms and will be more then happy to give it to you. It's very easy and extremely tasty ! So keep on having a great time ! Lots of hugs Orit

Dutch food dictionary
Hello Sapir family, We enjoyed your blog about the food. Well our Dutch experience is not so different as our Belgium experience but still .... Holland is not known as the best kitchen of Europe/World. Yesterday we tried boerenkool (borecool)with potatoes and with fish, but normally you have to serve it with a rookworst (smoked sausage). Today we went to a very nice outside museum. It shows life beginning 18th century and there they were smoking herring and eel. The herring you have to eat hot and the eel is better cold. Of course, we bought cheese again, made in this museum. We certainly need to start to explore asian cooking. You can buy so many things in the normal supermarket that it looks like the dutch people prefer this kitchen. We made shoarma ourselves which we all 4 loved to eat and tomorrow we will try some mexican wraps and think about you. Bon aproveche Sabine and the family

Mmmmm..... panqueques con dulce de leche.... you wouldn't believe how nostalgic this can be for me! It brought my childhood back. Nitzan, I'm with you - that's the best dessert there is! Love, Tamy.

fascinating
Hey girls and boys, What an adventure. You make us jealous bus we enjoy your stories. It is really nice to read that you are enjoying so much. And thank you for sharing the fantastic pictures with us. I will have a look how we can send some pictues to you. We have been cycling in Amsterdam on Sunday because the centre was closed for cars. It was very nice. This week, we will prepare Jessie's suitcase. Next week, the 5th graders are going on a school trip for 1 week to Drenthe. It is early in the schoolyear but school do this so the english, french and dutch classes get to know each other better. They will do mixed activities. Meanwhile, I'm preparing myself for a second interview for a job in the neighbourhood and Mario is suffering his bos' visit today. This morning I joined a walked in the dunes of Bergen (not as big as the ones in Huacachina), organised by the international women group. We are getting integrated and start to build up a new live. Enjoy Peru and let us know which will be your next country Sabine and the gang

Lovely!
Keeping close to your adventures. Lilachi, I don't agree with you that you don't know how to write... you're doing a great job. I loved the picture of the Huacachina Oasis, seems like a little heaven in the middle of such huge sand landscape. Sending you love from the most quiet scenary of Yom Kipur. Neshikot.
