Hey guys Just a dramatic change of plan that I thought I'd let you know of. So the past 3 weeks Ive been going to Sunday church in Te Awamutu and last week they were asking for volunteers to go to Fiji to help build a church. As soon as I heard this I knew I wanted to get involved and give something back into the community, and if theres one thing Ive learnt from my trip and that is to take oppourtunitties when they come up. So I will be leaving on the 5th July flying out from Auckland and returning to Brisbane on the 16th July to go back home when I will arrive back in Manchester around 8:00AM on Saturday 17th July. This trip means I wont be able to go to the ... read more

Hi everybody I know I havent posted a blog in a while so I thought I'd let you all know whats going on since Ive been in New Zealand. Well I arrived in Auckland very early on the morning of May 2nd and I spent a few nights in Auckland looking around, now that its Autumn and soon into winter its starting to get quite cold and I havent had cold weather in nearly 14 months. From Auckland I hitchhiked my way up to the bay of islands stopping overnight in the little village of Leigh where a very friendly German guy who picked me up recommended I stay, it was also the village he lived in and that evening he invited me to join him and his Kiwi wife to dinner in the next village ... read more

Now that im in New Zealand im very excited but I havent got a very detailed plan im afraid, if theres something I learnt about my time in Australia is that you can make a million plans they will not always stay the same becuase you could make some friends and decide to stay with them ... read more

Hi everybody Well its been a busy 2 weeks starting off with my trip to the Great Barrier Reef on Wednesday 7th of April, I went with a company called Dep Sea Divers Den and did a 3 day/2 Night diving trip where I did my Advanced PADI course. I learnt night diving, navigation, perfect buoyancy, deep diving (28m!) and diving from a boat, I saw a lot underwater and it resembles a lot like the film Nemo with hundreds of colourful fish and I also saw a turtle being hand fed coral about 2m away from me! I met a lot of cool people and would recommend it to anyone. After this I took a 12 hour bus trip to Airle Beach where I went sailing on the Whitsunday Islands national park on a boat ... read more

Hi everyone, sorry the last entry was so short, I had to be quick because I had to get back to the festival with some porridge for the rest of the volunteers. But the festival is over now and it was a very amazing special experience, where I did yoga, a mens circle and watching live music. Because the festival was so small there were only about 350-400 people there but I think because it was small it felt more social. At the festival I have met some amazing people and some who I think will be friends for a long time, i've already agreed to meet up with one friend in New Zealand. On sunday evening I went back to mainland Tasmania from Bruny Island to see a friend play at a local pub who ... read more

I started a 5 day surf tour on the 6th which is a lot of fun, we had 2 days at Cresent head and im now at a place called Spot X and my surfing is not quite at the standard of Kelly Slater but I can stand up and ride across the wave which is pretty cool. Im enjoying the surfing but I dont think ill do it after becuase its not really my sport. I'll probaly have more luck with snowboarding in New Zealand (Hey Christian ;) ).
