I'll have my first and hopefully not last poems for you this week - love - uncle jim
Great News Sandy,
It's great to hear from you. It's only Grace and in the RV.While it says it sleeps 8, I'd only recommend 3 more because the beds are crap. My niece sleeped with us for a night in the RV, but chose to sleep in my uncle's after that. She said it was cold because it was in the 40s at night near Valdosta, GA. I'll bet you $10 we drag the RV to San Jose where it might stay at your place for awhile!
I think it would be good to get some skiing in this winter. You've got to keep active and live.
I've subscribed you to the blog. If others want regular updates, please subscribe.
Cheers,
Scott
I am loving it. Please keep me informed - how many people in that massive 5th wheeler? May I take a bet on where it will die?
Sounds like a real adventure.
I am doing well, some complications but still able to get around and still plan to ski in the meadow in a few weeks. Kids not so sure but what damage can I do on flat land?
Love to you and Grace
The best Thanksgiving EVER!! It was the happiest Thanksgiving Holiday ever!! At Jim's house, we filled up the house with laughter, love, care, thankfulness and great holiday spirit. The family relationships were bonded tighter than ever after our Thanksgiving visit at Jim's loving home. I am very thankful for everything, everyplace, everyone that I have received in my life.
As you can tell from this blog, Jim and Scott were very competitive to each other about their games. I had so much fun watching these two big men fight like two big boys. Anyway, the spot on the sweet potato soufflé was chopped pecan. I enjoyed cooking some with Jim and also to learn some of his tricks on cooking. I always feel there are endless learning possibilities and fun activities in kitchen. I love the life style of long long trailer, and I will watch it over and over again thanks for the blog, Scott and I enjoy it very much every time I read it and please keep it coming!!
Love yours, Grace
Dual Trucks The panoramic photo is the result of my camera stitching 3 photos together. I didn't align the camera correctly for the third photo, so it extended the RV with two windows in the front and what looks like two trucks. This made my RV look even longer and cooler than it is.
This isn't a photoshop trick, just a goofy camera.
americus hi there
glad you are out and having great adventures!
we all miss you here.
love the updates and am so impressed with your computer savy skills

2 trucks scott- why in the picture at uncle jim's house with your rv, does it look like you have 2 trucks pulling it? that picture of you in the cotton field is cool. we'll be leaving to come and visit you all pretty quick. see you then.
Corn Sheller Donna,
I figured someone would know what that's called - especially someone who used it back in the day. I remember using the corn grinder alot to feed the chickens but never got to use a sheller.
Yes, publishers are hounding me to finish the trip and write a final version of the book so they can print it - yeah right.
We're going to my Uncle Jim's for Thanksgiving and a couple of my Aunts are coming to visit as well. So we will have a big, traditional Thanksgiving!
Let me know if you want to know about anything in particular.
Thanks for the blog Just started reading a few days ago and am all caught up now. Hope you're having as much fun as it looks and as much fun as I'm having reading about ya'll. Looking forward to seeing you both next time you make it to SF!
Love the pics and your writing style Scott, brother, I love the pics (sunset pic is amazing man). I also like your writing style. I specially like when you describe your interaction with your wife and Stella : )
At last week's couples retreat, my wife and I had so many special moments. There was one process called "weather check in." It is basically an inside check-in but using the weather to describe how I feel. E.g. Rainy for most of the morning with probabilities for sunny skies in the afternoon. That is how I feel right now.
I would also like to read about your reflections on life based on this awesome journey (as you did on your first blog entry).
My judgment is that you are living your mission right now. I enjoy reading your blog and check out the pics.
Difficult? Remember the I. Being is a man is not difficult. It is a no brainer. Evolving to who I am presents a fascinating challenge leading to fulfillment. I have absolutely no difficulty in relating with Dana. She is the perfect mirror through which I see the gold in myself. So Scott, I need to replace your pronouns with I and the writing makes far more sense.
Peace,
Michael
getting ready for a storm Hey Scott n Grace. Sounds like you two are having an incredible journey. It will give you great stories to tell now, and for years to come. Although ya'll might hit a few bumps in the road, it sounds like you two are still definately making the most out of the trip. We're going to get hit by a tropical storm in about 7-8 hours. It should bring 60-70 mph winds and a lot of rain. Pretty weak compaired to some other hurricane's that we've weathered in the past. The only real concern is that we could lose power. As you can imagine, that's never fun.
This past weekend we went with my Mom, Dad and Alisha to Jacksonville to watch the Chiefs play. We bought tickets for my Dad on his Bday. It is a really nice city, just wish the Chiefs had showed up a little bit earlier. Enjoyed spending time with the family, and seeing a nice vacation spot.
Look forward to hearing more about your trip. See ya in a couple weeks,
Ian and MaShay
Mobile Repairs Conrad,
We brought the repairman to the RV instead of taking the mountain to Moses. The RV is working pretty well now, we just we're going from overloaded the first few days. Most things are working now.
Cheers,
Scott
Driving Duty Seasi,
Since we have started driving, I wrecked the RV the first day on the road. Grace drove most days after that until yesterday when I drove. Grace is doing some backing up, but I've done more. Just one brain fart of a wreck or things would be good.
Our $500 deductible on insurance should fix the mistake.
Of course the wheels straightened out. Grace was just worrying like women do.
Later,
Scott
Axels are fine Kate,
The axels are fine and are meant to move independently like that. Grace asked several people and they all agreed it should do that. It is surprising how much they contort on a sharp turn.
Westwood would have been a bust without you. We're so glad that you were our neighbor and you had your breakfast clubs.
Cheers,
Scott
Water Heater is Fine The water heater is fine, but I had to screw it into the wall a few times because it was sliding out. It was sliding before the accident even.
double wide!!!! Wow, you drink Double Wide! I get a kick out of that. Glad it was tasty, and on hand for the post-dent. I whacked the front of my car (on election day, when accident rates rise, apparently) in the same way, forgot about the physical world.
I love keeping up with the adventure. Thanks for writing the blog. Hi and big hugs to each of you. Westwood is not the same....
by the looks on the wheels of your vehicle i think you have either a travel trailer or fifth wheel, well it looks like its minor damage, sewer lines, damage to the skirt, i can see the water heater is there as well, was there any damage to the lp lines. well good luck with the repairs, you should contact your ins co.
Plumber Scott Your travel is hilarious... always thought you had features/skills of pipe cleaner.. you may have material for a five star movie... safe travels.
Everybody Poops WoW......you have a rolling palace. In your next video, be sure that everyone see's the pop-out lap pool, tennis court, and helicopter pad on the roof. You both are set up. Move over Mr. Gates.
The sewage drainage is quite funny.....have you ever had a colonic? There's always that clear part of the hose system that you can see what is coming out......Eeeuww!!! Looks very much like the RV hose. But that's so cool, in a creepy kind of way......and such an interesting way for RV neighbors to get to know a little more of each other.
Once Grace gets back into the swing of cooking her wonderful healthy menu, the future photos of that sewage pipe will surely look clean and healthy.......in a way, it's your window (and ours too) to what will be going on inside YOUR bowels during your entire road trip. Isn't that wonderful? No more slabs of meat or fritto bags with chili......we're all watching you.
Maybe you should have a weekly Poopy Tube report on your blog for us health fanatics and blog fans who are living vicariously through your adventures.
And soon enough, Grace will be leading healthy cooking classes to the RV crowd because they will all be intrigued and jealous of your "Clear Tube" status.
Eventually, once her RV Gourmet cookbook and cooking show takes off, we will all look back at that stuck poopy picture and realize the most golden and destined of opportunities can begin from the most unlikely of places.
HAPPY TRAILS!!!!
And remember, the preferred distance between two points is always.......a "Smooth" one.

too funny! scott and grace
we are celebrating jim's birthday over at mashay and ian's place tonight, and ian had mentioned he had a message from you about your adventure. i have never laughed so hard. your writing and experiences are too funny! keep up the work you'll get that rv figured out. the scenery is beautiful. see you soon. take care you too! aunt kathy
varooombaba Hi Scott and Grace! How great to be able to read of your traveling adventures. Scott I am impressed with your rv know-how. And I will be rootin and cheering for your every triumph over the petulant thing. Maybe a spirit-level talk is in order. Maybe Steve the old owner was a bad owner and the poor old thing....
Of course, you have to be relishing the balms of Florida. As I write this it is chilly and rainy in Kansas City.
Hey Grace, I got to meet Celina Tio and try out her very nice, and on a Tuesday night completely crowded restaurant. I was very good!
So DID the rv axles straighten out?
Kate
Grace Will Drive the RV Seasi,
Good to hear from you. Grace did backup the U-haul at the gas station and said I needed to mention it in the blog. She's not ready to drive the RV yet, but we'll get there.
hello Dear Scott and Grace
thank you for the updates. you are a brave souls. sounds very very challenging! is scott the main driver? why is grace not doing some backing up and this and that???? really am asking as often women are great and more sensitive drivers. I always sucked at it and hope i never have to back up something with a trailer or rv attached to it.
did the wheels straighten out after you got out of the dead end road????
sorry it has been so hot for scott ... am looking forward to your next update with news of things working on the used rv?
keep laughing and know you are loved
