While my idea of the perfect day in Paris isn't necessarily hitting the shops, the weather was looking grim and we had promised the girls some shopping time. The trade off was that we were going to afternoon tea at Laduree down on Rue Jacob afterwards. I must admit I felt quite excited as we headed up to the metro. We have avoided it in the past in favour of bikes, which have been cool and convenient in Summer heat. Gitte and Dorine, however, being Dutch, do not find bikes as much fun as we do, so we bought our carte de billets at the machines and headed for Galeries Lafayette and the soldes, soldes, soldes!
