Great to see an update and can't wait for more...hope you're enjoying Brussels (I lived there before and didn't love it, but am trying to get another chance to go there for work) - it's always educational to read about others' experiences.
your apt and moving day Hi. that is pretty amazing how they got your furniture up to your 5th floor. Your apt is beautiful. a little bigger than the apt in Japan. I remember when we lived in Germany and I was babysitting one night for a family that the parents were going to France for dinner. Ha ha. So you like the Cafe and bistros. That does sound nice to go meet for drinks an d sit outside..cool.. Enjoy.
WOW Hi you two!! What an incredible moving experience!! Loved the pictures and your detailed commentary about the move and the trials and tribs of laundry day at your home!! Whew indeed!! HOWEVER--what a beautiful apartment-great open space, attractive walls, built-ins and lovely flooring!! So impressive!! Let us see it all when you are done unpacking and decorating!! Too bad we can't all hold a house-warming party!! I remember when I was studying and living in Germany, I often traveled to Brussels and especially Brugge---just loved it all---most especially the great mussels and pommes frites--not to mention the Belgian chocolate--yum!!!!! You are rignt, dieting would be hard to do there!! Very anxious to see you on the August cruise--will be great to talk face to face!! Thanks for all your updates. We are suffering an abnormal heat wave--humid and in the mid/upper 90s--you know I am not a happy camper--argh! Tomorrow we drive with friends to Raleigh to see the Broadway production of Jersey Boys--it should be fun. Great music! Well, it is time to pour a libation and begin dinner preparations--tonight we enjoy salmon and I will stuff it with crabmeat. With an arugula salad and our own home grown grape tomatoes--and a glass of white wine--should be tasty!! Do keep in touch and enjoy your time there--you really are lucky to be so close to so many great travel expeditions--I am getting jealous--sigh.... Stay well, get rest and most of all, have fun!! Cynthia (and Rod)
Youth and Patience are on your side. It's a good thing you are young enough to have patience and laugh at these little (LOL) problems. I can't even imagine Harry coping with any of it. But then that's why we are here safely tucked away in Florida and you are off experiencing the world. Good for you.
Keukenhof So glad you got to see Keukenhof in all its glory (something I have yet to do with all the time I have spent in the Netherlands). Looking forward to the photos.
Pick up a couple of kilo of chocolate to ease the pain of the upcoming move!
Brussels at last So glad to hear you finally arrived in Brussels. Great you were able to get the apartment you wanted. We are looking forward so much to seeing you again on Sea 2 Sea. This is my second post - - don't know what happened to the first one, but hope you get this one !!!
Brussels at last So good to hear you have finally "landed" and found the apartment of your liking !! I know you must be excited to finally be setteling in. We are so much looking forward to seeing you in Athens this Summer!! As we speak the highs for Athens for the rest of the week are 81-82. Thaat would be nice !
Keep in touch, love to hear about your schedules !!
Sounds like all is WELL IN YOUR WORLD! WOW a lot accomplished in a very short time. Good for you. You are settling in nicely but then I didn't expect less. Make sure you send us your address so I can make sure you get a Pogo card for Xmas again. Phone number too. Keep the stories coming, I love them.

whew! Thanks for the update! And they always said MITRE was a boring company to work for.... Marc, saw a bunch of COS folks at the Gatlinburg tournament who said to tell you hi and that you and Arlene are still missed! So sorry we weren't able to connect before you left. But we'll still be here in "Geezer Heaven" when you return to the States and will be happy to show you around. All best wishes in the move! Drop an email when you can.
BD Sure is good to hear from you. Have wondered where you ended up - Keep me on your list if you will please as it is always a pleasure to hear from you. Lots of luck with our new adventure.
Not that you were anxious..... Who are you kidding, you were anxious. Glad I got to talk to Marc the other nite in chat. Hope you had (since you won't see this till you are in Belgium) a great flight and that you find an apartment soon.
Make sure you send me your address and phone numbers, etc. so we can stay in touch.

Whew It's good to hear from you guys. I don't know how in the world you can handle all those gyrations. Brussels sounds fun and probably a cultural 180 for you both. Now I can say I truly know a couple of world travelers. Best to you both. Oh Debi and I will be in Paris June 12th -23rd. We are getting an apartment there. She i sort of working at the Paris Air Show and I am going for the vin e souffle :). Probably no chance to hook up but you never know.
Bout time you got this all straightened out Really glad to hear you finally have some closure on where you'll be for the next year (s) ? How long is this assignment?
Good that we did get to see you at least once while you were back in the states.
Hope Belgium is as wonderful as you are expecting it to be and that you get to do your usual hopping from place to place in all these new and exciting places.
Just make sure to keep us posted on your adventures and when you might possibly be back here in Florida again. Have a safe trip.

Been thinkin about you guys Hi - yeah I know I have taken forever to send you both a note. Im sorry. You are certainly living up to your reputations as world travelers. I am jealous, big time!
The pictures are all great and tell an awesome story for us. Not mush different goin on here in Sanford Florida. No hurricanes yet this year as you probably know. Debi and I have been trying to learn some italian for a trip we have planned next May. We'll see how well that all goes. Too Cold for Me Sounds like you had a wonderful time on your cruise. Looks too cold for me however. Really looking forward to seeing you again on the 25th here in Florida. Too bad Marc isn't going to be with you but at least we get you.
Have a safe trip to the states.
My husband Marc and I were living in Winter Springs, FL in August, 2006. My husband decided to accept a new position with his company which meant relocating to Tokyo, Japan in November, 2006. We lived in Tokyo until November, 2008. After a couple of months in th US getting our paperwork in order, Marc's company moved us to Brussels, Belgium in April, 2009. This blog is intended to keep our family and friends up to date on the logistics of our moves and our adventures living in Japan and Belgium.... full info
