Ok U guys are in t-shirts and the locals are in obviously warm jackets. What gives?!?!?!
10th February 2015

that's the deal. Westerners think it's super hot, but the locals find the current temperatures cold. They are most at home in the above thirtys and more . . . It's quite hilarious actually.

Hi Al and Nancy. One of the most rewarding things about doing the travel blog is when it helps out other travellers, or when it brings back sweet memories for others of places travelled, as in your case. Thanks for following us, and shari
ng your story. Lake Toba truly was a magical place to be, and we hope to return again sooner than later.

Hello Stan and Bev: Nancy and I are following your blogs, they bring back many fond memories of our three years in Jakarta and the many islands. On my posting to Jakarta, I had to travel to Lake Toba searching for a young Canadian who had d
isappeared while climbing up to the summit ridge. The Indonesian authorities and our embassy never found him after 18 months of searching and local myths said that if you drowned in Lake Toba, your spirit/body would never be found, as it belong forever to the goddess of the largest vocanic eruption ever and the lake it created, which has been estimated that it was hundred times more powerful then Krakatoa in 1883. You have seen one of the truly ancient natural wonders of the world. Keep the posts up!

Love having you travel with us! Enjoy the trip, but don't catch anything. I seem to do that well enough myself

Hi Bev and Stan, what an adventure. I just wanted to mention that I visited Lake Toba in the early 70's and it was so special. We just got completely laid back and I could have stayed there for months. Love you blog and pics. Love Pam

Thanks Pam. Always love hearing from you as well. You are totally right - it remains still very chill and it was difficult to leave. Could very well find ourselves back again next year for a longer stay.

Absolutely! The band aid is beginning to have its appeal. Time she get off that pedestal and toughen up, like her Travel mentor.
