kaiserslautern & meisau in 1949 I first came to the ktown and meisau in 1949 with the 502nd engr util co.we started the building of the meisau ammo dep in 1949. it was all a forsted area when we moved in. we used to go deer hunting in the woods near meisau. I had a lot of good friends there. the people of meisau were very good people. I went back to ktown in 1952 to kleber kaserne.left in 1955 was with the 432 engr const bn. I am going back 25 oct,2010 for ten day vacation. I know things will have changed a lot. but I am looking forward to going back.
Memories of Miesau Greetings...I came across your travel blog by way of google serach. I saw the picture of the old schnitzel stand (Edi's) and awe man, I was taken back to 92! I spent two years in Miesau and this place was a regular hang-out. Food was AWESOME and the BEER, awe, I do miss GE! Thanks for the trip back down memory lane for it was good to see!
Stationed in Miesau Hi, I just pulled this up on the internet and enjoyed hearing about your travels. I was stationed in Miesau with a Hawk Missle unit for 4 years in the early 80's. This looks like the Gast Haus just outside of the gate on the left corner. If so it has changed alot (i spent alot of my money in that place and was one of the best times of my life). Thanks for the photo. Joe.
I love coocoo clocks as well. :D My step-grandparents brought one over for my mom and I've wanted one every since. Maybe I'll get lucky enough one day to get over there.
I got your postcard by the way. It definitely put a big smile on my face. Love you lady. Hope you have an amazing time in Paris. <3
that's so cool i really like your blogs, they're really funny. like about the monks and the heat and stuf.. i've been to thailand once, and it was really cool! and all of this is, amazingly, true
jealoussssss i wanna go to germany so bad. i'm so jealous. i love how your plans include going to castles and the louvre and stuff, and my itinerary is: work at stomping grounds, bust my ass off to write 3 songs in the next week to record next month, starve to death, etc.
hope you're having a great time, ames is a dreary place without you.
It looks like a good plan miss murphy. Guess where I am?? Yep, still at SG finishing work. I'm getting toward a week behind schedule :) Excellent, but the end is in sight. Keep having fun!!
Too much fun! I used to keep a running quote list from class. :-D Priceless! I am glad you are having fun! I'm still insanely jealous. But I'm taking my much-loved road trip to Park's Library. On the bright side, it hit almost 75 degrees today! Your pets say "Hello" and "Kate spoils us". See ya!
Peace out
Thai Life Just surfed your page today, I've lived in Bangkok 7 years and yours is one of the best I've seen on the net.You really hit it right on life here. Plus your visiting the leper center and the orphanages is something everyone should do to fully appreciate life here. My first visit was to mission sites in the north and really gave me insight in what real help someone can do for others.
Creepy... All those purses was a little nutty to me also. Think of it's influence in the same circle as Hello Kitty or most things done by Paris Hilton. People love it, we scratch our heads why...
LIME You might want to clarify what you mean by "lime." ONe could read this and think that you mean the slightly tart green fruits instead of the white mineral that you put on dead bodies. Importantly, betel nut chewing requires the latter.
Raming Lodge I whole heartedly conquer that the Raming Lodge is the best place that I have ever stayed ANYWHERE. The best part of it was the price, it was rediculously cheap from what I hear.
glad you're having fun Hey, glad you're having such an awesome time! Wish i was there too, but you know. someday. just thought i would say hi, let you know i'm checking up on you! got your invitation, will definitely be at graduation. love ya! - chantel
