An inexcusably long period of time has passed between the publishing of our last text blog, and these accompanying photos. We can only apologise profusely for this, and blame the mothers for keeping us too busy. However, there is a silver lining to this cloud; our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City has free internet & a very fast connection, resulting in the biggest photo blog of our trip so far - 37 snaps in total (the majority from Angkor) can be found below! We hope you enjoy, and we'll try harder in the future..... xxx... read more

Yes, we're still alive! Nearly 3 weeks since the last blog, and an entire country has been and gone since then, so it's high time for an update. We're now in Vietnam, having travelled through Cambodia from Thailand. We left you last on our final day in Kanchanaburi, awaiting transport down to the South of Thailand. This turned out to be one of the longest and most convoluted journeys so far - 2 buses, 2 motos, 1 boat, 1 jeep ride, and a train (on which we managed to fall asleep and miss our stop!). Eventually, almost 24 hours since leaving Kanchanaburi, we arrived on Ko Phayam. Ko Phayam is just off the Andaman coast, and a relatively unknown Thai island (compared to the likes of Phuket etc.). Its only 11km x 4km in size and ... read more

A slightly delayed set of photos to accompany the last blog this time - apologies, we've been sunbathing on a little island for the last 4 days, with little electricity and no internet (its a hard life!). But, we're back in Bangkok now, stocking up on more supplies before venturing into Cambodia in the next couple of days. Another update will follow soon... xxx... read more

Just a quick side note before we start this blog. The two of us have been having some 'differences of opinion' over how long each entry should be. If you could let us know whether you think they are currently too long and detailed - about 2000 words every 2 weeks - and if so, we'll try to cut them down in the future, thanks! ..... and now the update you've all been waiting for!: The Sari's have become mini-skirts, the monkeys have turned into Monks, there's meat on the streets (of the cooked variety), and (apparently) most of the women have penises..... that's right - we're in Thailand! Flew in to Bangkok early on the 19th of January, and we're currently in Kanchanaburi. But first, to finish the Indian chapter of our adventures. After the ... read more

An extra special blog entry this time, just to tide you all over & keep everyone interested until we're able to update properly again. Ever since the travels began we've encountered many funny signs, menus, advertisements and occurences. Most of these have been documented photographically, and below is what we have so far. From what we've seen in our first couple of days in Thailand, we'll have enough material for another one of these blogs again soon. But for now sit back, get ready for a giggle, and enjoy..... xxx ... read more

It’s been two weeks since we last updated (we've been a bit preoccupied with all this travelling lark!), so there's a lot to catch up on. We left you last in Mt.Abu, and 5 cities have been and gone since then, but we'll keep this chronological. The 27th of December was another day of train delays and we arrived late in Jodhpur and went straight to bed. The following morning we headed for Jodhpur's biggest attraction - the huge Meharangagh Fort - perched 125 metres atop a hill, overlooking the rest of the city. On the advice of the Bible (A.K.A The Lonely Planet) we put our guided tour prejudices to one side and splashed out on the audio tour. It really was worth it, and we spent a good couple of hours wandering around the ... read more

Hello again, and seasons greetings to one and all. Hope you're all having a merry christmas, and wishing you a happy new year as well! It's been a while since the last blog, and there's a lot to catch up on, so straight down to business. Last update we were just about to leave Varanasi on the night train to Agra. We got to the station in plenty of time, only to find our train was 3 hours delayed. This, plus another 5 hours delay en route, didn't make for the best introduction to Indian train travel. By the time we reached Agra it was mid-afternoon, and a little late to start sightseeing, so we just settled for a big meal (our first since lunch the day before!) with a rooftop view of the Taj Mahal. ... read more

Another very quick photo update. We're in Agra now, right next to the Taj Mahal! - But thats for the next blog. James' camera lead isn't working at the moment, and the internet is rather slow again, so we're still only able to upload a few pics. We've included some from Nepal, and a couple from Varanasi, so they cover the last 2 blogs. Again, keep your comments and messages coming, its great to hear from you all! We'll write again in a few more days... x... read more
