Zoe and Danni

Zoe and Danni met in 2005 at a bar...and our first night of meeting was very memorable! Ever since we have been the best of friends! Making plans to travel as soon as we met...Zoe waited for me to finish university and in 2009 we went to Thailand for 3 weeks. This was the best experience we both have ever had...so we planned for a bigger adventure! We will be travelling to South East Asia again and onto Australia for a year on a working holiday visa.

They say opposites attract and that is what we are...Zoe petite and blonde and Danni dark and curvy...Zoe is a Sales executive and Danni is a paediatric nurse...but both being Sagittarius we are restless energies and need adventure and travel!!!

Our time had finally come to leave Phi Phi; so with our bags all packed, we said our final goodbyes to Susan and promised to keep in touch. We headed down to the pier and got straight onto the boat; we sat down and looked at each realising our adventure was to still continue. Once we got to Krabi, we were due to get a free transfer to Ao nang, but when we arrived at the pier we were told that the waves were big and we couldn’t go or pay 400 baht each to get a long tail boat to Railay. Thinking we were already wise to this we headed on and spoke to someone else who said 150 baht each; feeling proud that we had mastered the battering and overcome the cons; we got ... read more

So we were back working at banana bar and life got back into the same routine. Lie in, lunch at DMC, (what we ordered to eat depended on how many buckets we had consumed the night before )a few hours at the beach if the weather was good, a movie in the room if the weather was bad, dinner at DMC and then off to work we would go! We became somewhat VIP customers at DMC the staff would welcome us like best friends every time we went and they would joke saying see you later or tomorrow! We thought we'd be cool and make a poster to go on the wall with all the others; our poster was a master piece and we noticed a very rude poster which they obviously had not noticed that ... read more

So our stay on Koh Phi Phi Island continues and after 7 weeks of living, working and partying here it’s starting to feel like our home. We have made some amazing friends and explored the island some more. For those of you who have never been to Phi Phi your missing out, for those of you have…you have been to paradise! It has it all, amazing beaches, friendly people and not a car or moped in sight. The island is linked together by a maze of cobbled streets. So small it would be very hard to get lost (Although we have witnessed several drunken people walking around in circles) everywhere you go you see friendly and familiar faces and all of us who work/live here are like one big family. Tourists come and go daily and ... read more

Arriving in Koh Phi Phi we were excited to return to Paradise, our favourite place on our Thailand trip in 2009. The water was clear and turqouise and the scenery still looked amazing. After paying a 20baht towards the beach clean-up fee when getting of the boat we headed off to The White, Our home for the next 6 weeks. The streets of Phi Phi were a lot busier than before, but the ambience of the place remained the same and The White was as nice as ever. It felt good to know we could unpack our stuff, settle down and have some kind of routine for a while. Our Good friend Lewis was arriving in 2 days and we couldn’t wait to be reunited with our 3rd musketeer! Shattered, that night we decided to have ... read more

Our day started early ready for our boat trip to Koh Phangan, we had breakfast of tea and toast before we got picked up and dropped at Nathon pier. When we arrived we found a seat and took in the people around us. One thing that we had observed more and more were the amount of families that travelled, with young children. We don’t understand how a 5 year old can understand the beauty of Thailand and for a young child to have to go through the travelling is surely unfair. Once we got on the boat we headed downstairs and as we sat down noticed a group of boys, and amongst them was our friend from Bangkok, Lewis! The best thing about travelling is you will just bump into the same people again without even ... read more

We arrived on Lamai beach, down the south end at the Green Villa which was run by 2 french men and were shown to our room. We walked up the steps of our little shack and opened the door which revealed a double bed and just about enough room down the side to place our bags. Opening the door to the bathroom we discovered a toilet without a flush; with a bucket of water next to it…at this point we felt we were proper travellers. We soon realised we were not alone in in our little shack after finding lizards and giant ants crawling around, this would account for the price we paid a night of only £6 for both of us. Unpacking a few bits we went to the restaurant and had a brunch of ... read more

Arriving at Baan rom mai we settled into our room by spreading our stuff around and finally hanging up some clothes. We had a quick dip in the pool after another sweaty journey then headed off to the beach in search of some food. Chaweng beach couldn’t have been more different to the one we had just left in koh Tao, all along the beach front were big posh hotels with fancy restaurants We learnt this when we sat down at the first place we came across and embarrassed as we couldn’t afford anything of the menu just asked for 2 fantas which ended up costing the same amount as we had paid for a full meal and drinks in Bangkok. After walking about 2 miles down the sandy beach we decided to stop at arc ... read more

We finally made it to Koh Tao and headed straight to our hotel which was conveniently 5 minutes down road. When we got there we got shown to our room and having to carry our bags up stupidly steep steps we made it to our fan room. After a closer inspection of our room we discovered a cockroach laying on its back by the bed…we gave it a poke and it wiggled! Quickly placing a glass over it he stayed under that. A fan room was what it was, literally circulating all the hot air! So we tried to sleep and due to exhaustion fell asleep for 3 hours, waking at 1pm we went to get a decent meal after eating loads of junk food on our epic journey. We found a little Thai place that ... read more

After a very sad and emotional goodbye at Heathrow to our parents we set off on our journey to travel the world. (South East Asia and Australia!) After going round the corner and making it through the security checks, Danni was then pulled over to have her bag checked for bomb residue; she obviously looked a bit dodgy! After they discovered she wasn’t carrying a bomb we made it to our executive lounge for a well-earned glass of champers and some vodka as well as all the cheese we could eat!! Arriving in Bangkok the following day we had the challenge of trying to life our bags off the conveyer belt and then search for a taxi to take us to khao san road. Whilst waiting in line a guy asked us where we were ... read more
