Today will be our shortest blog so far as we didn't really get up to a lot. We got up and had brekkie. We decided to go for a drive and came across an Outlet Centre. With no plans for today we went and had a look. We picked up some new sneakers and a few other bits. It was another hot day (but give me a hot day over a cold, anytime) and every time we walked out of one shop and into another the girls found the heat quite bad. We ended up being there for over 5 hours (where does the time go). By the time we got back to the hotel it was 5pm so we went for an early dinner at Roxy's, one of the restaurants in the hotel. The staff ... read more

Today were we off to Las Vegas. It is a 4 hour drive so we loaded up the Beast and headed out towards the highway. It was going to be a long drive but it was exciting to be moving on to our next stop of our trip and we were keen to get there. We drove for about 1 hour and pulled over to get something to eat as the chickies were hungry, we then carried on till we got to highway 15. I must say if you do ever go to Las Vegas take the time out and drive because the views are amazing. The hills and the land is just so vast, it didn’t stop. The highways are just endless. The road went straight for 15 - 20 minutes and the little towns ... read more

Today was our last and third day at Disneyland, so we all felt a bit upset that it was our last day and as Walt Disney once said “it is the happiest place on earth”. So much to see and do you just don’t want the day to end. We got up early and got there as they were opening. We didn’t make the early bird entry which was a shame as the alarm didn’t go off. We started out at Tomorrowland at the Buzz light year ride were you had to shoot at objects and help out buzz, which was cool. Then we moved on to the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, where you hopped into a submarine and went on a ride to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. We helped Nemo’s dad find Nemo and we ... read more

Today we were on a mission to see a few of LA's sights that we hadn't yet had a chance to. Tomorrow is our last day in LA and is being spent at Disneyland. We headed north on the Interstate 5 towards Hollywood where our first stop-off was to get a a proper view of the HOLLYWOOD sign. We weaved up through some fandangle streets of amzing houses before coming to a dead end. We parked up and walked a few metres where we were able to get some good shots of it. It is huge. There is a hiking path you can nomally take, but it was locked off so we couldn't go exploring. It is very hilly there so we thought that maybe the ground was unstable or something? Our next stop or I ... read more

Today we were up and off for a drive to some of the beaches. Firstly we drove to Huntington Beach, it seemed like a lovely area. We didn't stop there and decided to keep driving North along the coastline for a while passing Seal Beach and then on to Long Beach. We didn't stop there though. We kept driving to where the shipping areas are. We drove over 2 large and different bridges. There were thousands of shipping containers in every direction you looked. We drove on to San Pedro and had a little look around. We then headed back to Huntington Beach and pulled into a carpark so the girls could have a swim. Unfortunately we didn't pick our area well as it was a dog beach and was very, very busy with dogs running ... read more

Today we had a nice 1 1/2 hour drive down to San Diego to go to Sea World, I say nice because it is quite picturesque as on the right you can see the ocean and to the left are some ranges. On arrival at San Diego Sea World it was overcast and windy (Didn't last too long though before it sunned up). We got our park maps and headed towards the Sea Otters, they were very cute and swam around and around on their backs. Next door to the Otters were the Dolpins. They had some great viewing areas to see them from different angles. The first show we saw and were quite chuffed about seeing, was the Cirque de la Mer. They are so talented with their acrobatics and the girls loved their colourful ... read more

Today we had a later start, so went to the movies to see Despicable Me in 3D. It's a new Universal movie and was a great little movie to chill out enjoy. The movie theatre was huge! We got some hotdogs, popcorn and drinks. We thought it was rather funny that you buy your butter movie popcorn and then on the side they have a dispenser full of butter that you can add to your already buttered popcorn...YUM - not! We then headed into Downtown LA to have a look at the stars. Stu is a bit over driving on these LA freeways, they are very full on and even with the tom tom it is still confusing. We parked up and went for a walk not realising HOW LONG the actual walk is, we imagined ... read more

Today was our 2nd and last day at Universal Studios. It was a lot busier today, being a Saturday but we still got to do everything that we didn't get to see the other day. (That we wanted to) Firstly we went to see the Shrek 4D Show, it is the same as the one at Movie World but is always good to see :) Then we went on and watched the stuntshow "Water World" which was just fantastic!! High action and great stunts, the actors in this show are also the stunt people for shows like Criminal Minds, CSI and Bones. The next stop was the terminator 3D show, which was really full-on. The special effects were amazing. I'll Be Back....... We had a delicious healthy lunch of fresh meat and salad rolls and fresh ... read more

Well, today we took a gamble by going to the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. Michelle N had recommended for us to go to the San Diego Zoo, as she said it was one of the best zoos she has ever been to - that's saying something coming from Michelle. The Wild Animal Park did not disappoint one little bit. It was a 1 1/2 hour drive from where we are staying in Anaheim. From the moment we walked in you could tell it had a fantastic set-up. As we entered we walked through a netted bird aviary, where there were a few different species of birds. Then we went through and saw the flamingos on the way to seeing the elephants. After having a quick look at the elephants we went back to the ... read more

Today we had a day of looking around some of the local shops. We can't get over the fact that at every set of traffic lights you come across there are shops there. I'm sure it isn't like that all over America but it is quite amazing how many shops there are here. The first thing we did today was go and buy Dad his peanut brittle - he better love it!!!! Then we were on a mission to buy the girls a new camera. We went to Best Buy up the road from us but it wasn't open yet - not opening till later this month. Then we went to a few other shops including a $1 shop. EVERYTHING in the shop is $1, from photo frames to frozen meals to lollies and chocolate, books ... read more
