Check out Burma If you are really going to hang out in SE Asia (I understand that desire - India is very interesting but very big and very hard work given the amount the local hassle you - Vietnam on steriods...) I recommend you try to get over to Burma. Pretty much the only way is by plane out of Bangkok, but I think that it is not too much. If you go, do not change money to local currency as required, but just bribe the person t the exchange window to let you off. The airport exchange is just to give the very nasty government some hard currency. Avoid giving it too them - use local exchangers in Rangoon.
Anyway, I loved Burma - very friendly, and they do not hassle you. Some amazing sights (yes more temples) and some bizarre local behaviour...
Enjoy SE Asia. I am enjoying the posts...

The thing about life... ...is it's really just a series of interconnected moments. Therefore, it's good to see you're enjoying these moments, money be damned!
It's not real, anyways.
I want to go to Vietnam. It sounds great.
Regards, and such - Jack -
having just learnt how to access your log have now caught up with your travels. Gettingmore computer literate by the day!!I remember the Great Barrier Reef, it has to be one of the essential places to visit during ones lifetime. Glad all is going well, hope you have remembered your anti-malarials!!! Love,T
Ah... Ah, finally. I find it. This thing where you write.
Pkay, so I could have just asked Louise earlier, but... I probably got distracted, or something.
So. I'm glad you're still alive. Your blog is a treat to read. Have a 'nam flashback for me.
The Horror...
On an unrelated topic... Guess who's going to see Bon Jovi...
Sorry, did I already rant about this? If not, consider it done.
*Daddy sends his love and best wishes and hopes you are having an awfully nice time*
Biznitch. Fizzle? Sounds like fuuun. I'm a little tired right nizzle, so plizzle forgizzle my copious use of the -izzle suffix.
I wish I could see pretty things too. All I see is rain... actually, you seem to be seeing rather a lot of that too. Oh well, I suppose being in NZ cancels out the crappiness of the weather. Here... well, it's just all shit.
North Island We read your blogs with interest, especially as we have been to nearly all the same places (but were carried up the hill by coach, like all the other crusties). You will enjoy Rotorua, we think, and Taupo is beautiful (the lake was formed by a gigantic volcanic explosion much bigger than Krakatoa). We enjoyed the glow-worm caves over to the west (name forgotten) and the Bay of Islands is good, especially if it is calm enough for a boat trip). And Auckland is a fine city (it must be - half the Kiwis live there). Have fun.
Enjoying Wellington Hi Adam,
good to read your blog on Wellington, my son lives there and went for a visit last November, it was windy then too! Good you went to Te Papa and have eaten some good food. Northland is warmer, if you get to Mangonui go to the fish and chip shop, it`s great!

Enjoy Wellington and North Island Adam,
I`m sure you will enjoy Wellington and the North Island, we were there not long ago, there is plenty to do in Wellington and you can do a tour around the island.
Pat in England.
NZ Back to Queenstown?? The just moved from there!! I agree with your assesment on Christchurch - the west coast is prettier (but also much wetter). Try to drive up the east coast it is quite stunning as well. If you are sick of sleeping on the floor ask to sleep in the bus - we cleaned it before we left so it should be safe!!!
Hello. I'm mostly setting up this journal so people can read about my "Big Gap Year Round The World Trip Thing" which everyone I know is probably bored of me talking about. I'm about 18 years old and I've always wanted to travel and, now that I have a big space in my life where I can get out of my dull English hometown, I've decided to actually do something about it. Here are the results.... full info

Temples.
I saw a docu on buddhist temples and the like they did a bit about the tower with faces, it looked nice.
