When I received a text asking if I would like to join a friend competing in a Warrior Dash I instantly wanted to say yes. When I saw the price tag attached to such an event, I sadly had to say no. BUT when the text came once again asking if I'd replace her former partner I hoped on board immediately! I had heard a lot about these warrior dashes, tough mudders and spartan races and was curious about them and excited to actually participate. It sounds as though the other two may be a smidge harder but this seemed like a great way to get involved with something a bit more extreme than just running a 5k. And who isn't excited to dive into mud after leaping over fire and climbing up and down cargo ... read more

I've been back in America for two and a half months now and what better time to return to America than summer time! It has been a great summer, filled with fun events, fabulous weather and a journey around the world right here in Ocean/Monmouth County. The sad fact is traveling has had to be put on hold for the moment and working, really working, has taken over. This isn't to shabby, I stay busy and have a fun job, but I can't deny the pull to go out on yet another adventure. So to rectify this problem I have joined forces with my mom, brother and friend to travel the world via food! Has it become obvious how much I love food as of the last couple of entries? Well I really do love food ... read more

Yogapoints Nashik, India Day One: Today is our first day, although it doesn't officially start until four in the afternoon. We got to sleep in which was glorious after so many days of traveling. Still sleeping in for me is about 7am and hungry as I was I stuffed my face with a banana. In a few short hours my food becomes contraband. Better than sleeping in, there was breakfast which was poho which is rice with boiled peanuts and lots and lots of fruit. This is going to be a fabulous breakfast if that is all it is. I have been missing copious amounts of fruit and bam here it is. We register today, so down I went to the office to fill out my paper work and pay my registration fee. This was nice ... read more

I've joked about it before but I really do love chilling in airports. I don't know why but I love to just people watch and roam around, curl up in a ball and fall asleep w somewhere and wake up the hustle of bustle maneuvering around you. Eating creepy food you pay to much for and always o. A quest to find and outlet or bathroom or cheaper crappier food. It's probably sounds sarcastic but its not. I really do enjoy me a good night in an airport. That is exactly what I'm doing. I've been in the Manila International Airport, Terminal 1 since 3 am. It is currently 1:40pm and my flight leaves at 3:05 pm. you see I took a bus in from Sagada which arrived in Manila at 3 am. I refuse to ... read more

Headed Norh The flight was nothing special. Quick and painless and as we stepped out of the airport we were in search for our third companion Margie. We were a bit nervous thinking it would be a bit difficult to find her but as luck would have it, there she was! We hopped a taxi and headed out to Oshiama bus tours which apparently is the only bus that take people up north. We booked our ticket, grabbed some dinner and then headed off. Love me a good night bus. This wasn't a good one however being bumpy and sighting over the wheel my knees where all scrunched up. Less than pleasant. Batad Hours later we arrived in Banaue. We hopped off our bus and were slightly bombarded by people offering to take us to Batad. ... read more

I heard from many people not to expect much from the cuisine in the Philippines. I'm not sure why, nobody could really explain why to why but I went in wondering if it was as bad as people had warned. Can I just say everyone is a liar or perhaps I just don't have a refined palate but whatever the case I'm finding the food quite tasty! Kwek kwek was my intro into Filipino food and not a bad one. On my twenty hour bus ride to Cebu I had a hankering for some filipino food and this was my cheapest option. A hard boiled egg wrapped in orange tinted batter and then fried and placed in a delicious sauce. Can you really go wrong with anything fried? No I think not. Thank you Island Fiesta ... read more

We had originally planned to go to Camiguin Island but when we learned that the boat was booked we decided on Siquijor, the mystique island. I was personally quite excited to head t the is,and because not only was it a bit off the beaten track but who doesn't love a good island know for witches. Better yet and island like that for Easter equals a perfect time! After two hours of sleep we almost didn't make it to Siquijor either! I don't know how I woke up but I did. For some reason none of the set alarms actually went off, but after two plus years of waking up at 6:15am to workout it seemed my body is so well trained that it did just that. Still feeling the effects of our fun last night ... read more

After a plane, bus, ship and boat Erica and I made it to Bohol! We had no plans at all so after getting some assistance we found ourselves the cheapest joint in the city and headed over to Casa Juana. After checking in we headed out to explore the town. It isn't exactly the prettiest of town, but strolling through the city our main focus became food and food we did find. There were little eateries everywhere that you could choose several different option for just 10 pesos each! This was great for me, but unfortunately it's not so great for vegetarians. Turns out pretty much every dish seems to have some meat in it making it hard for Erica to find anything. Despite that we found a place and grabbed some food and the headed ... read more

I have officially officially said goodbye to Thailand. After arriving in Thailand just a few days ago I am off again. It is sad to know I'm not coming back any time soon but exciting to start the next leg of my adventure. Erica and I are heading off to the Philippines. I'm starting out a few hours earlier. Or I should say started out already. The flight was short and sweet, getting me to Clark just 3 1/2 hours after taking off. Grant it I had to sit with a really strange fellow, but other than that it was a smooth ride. I hung out in the airport for the next couple of hours as I waited for Erica's flight to come in. Naturally she caught me while I was in downward facing dog. The ... read more
