OMG
Hi Erin, Your travel blog "I haven't met a bug...." really cracked me up. More power to you for being able to accept all that food. I could eat the ants if they weren't moving , wouldn't mind the grasshoppers but I draw the line with those GRUBS!! Yuck ! You have a way with words & I really enjoyed your blog. Your mom brought it into work & shared it with me. I am happy that your hosts families have been great so far. I really admire your courage & sense of adventure. Wish that I was as brave. What do you miss most about America? Will try to visit your blog & would like to catch up with all your beautiful photos. Stay safe & God Bless you ---Linda

Collaboration with a film project
My husband and I stumbled upon your blog when we were searching for a peace corps volunteer to collaborate with for a film project we're currently working on. My Husband, Mike, and I have been elementary school teachers for the past 5 years, three of them being in West Africa. We are taking this year off to film and document the lives of children around the world stemming from our frustration at not having any quality resources about kids daily lives around the world to use in our social studies classes. So far we have featured eight children, each happening to be between 8-12 years old, living in Tierra del Fuego, the Sacred Valley, the Amazon, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Oman, Sri Lanka and now Australia. After reading bits of your blog, you sound like a perfect resource to help make this leg of our project a success and we hope to meet up with you. I mean, any vegetarian open to eating meat and grasshoppers probably wouldn't mind having two other Americans to share salty insects with. We are looking for an outgoing and reflective child between 8 and 12 years old within a Thai community to feature in our documentary and on the website. We arrive as early as Sunday, April 10th and only have one week in Thailand! The project will last between 3 and 7 days and we will need a translator/s for some of it. We would film in the child's home, school and wherever else he or she spends time on a daily basis. At least one day, we would need to film them as they start and end an average day. Mike and I are strong believers that Peace Corps volunteers are by far the best cultural liasons. We have worked with PCVs in Senegal, Ethiopia and Bulgaria and would love to collaborate with you as well. Please take a look at our website (which is still under construction and in its infancy) www.window2myworld.com I know this is short notice, but we'd still love to hear back from you! Cheers, Devon & Mike

GOD BLESS YOU
Dear Erin, OMG, I cannot believe you are a million miles a way, and still smiling. It is quite obvious to me that you are where you are meant to be. I just reviewed some of your pictures you were gracious enough to share. Wow, what beautiful land, family, wats, rice fields, animals (can't believe how close you go to the elephant) and surroundings. It is so difficult for me to imagine adjusting to such a different environment. I cannot believe you are eating "meat"!!!!!! Obviously, you are in a comfort zone. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think you would actually be in a country like Thailand spreading the word, helping people and just existing with "brothers and sisters" in another world? I admire your courage, enthusiasm and trust i the Lord. God Bless you and I look forward to reading more on your ventures and seeing more photos that your mom was gracious enough to share with me. Be safe. Love Pam

Roiet
I just ran across your blog and decided to subscribe given that I spent many years in Isan growing up. So I am looking forward to your impressions. I lived on Korat, and visited friends in Roiet in the early 60's. We spent a day harvesting ricefields. Have fun.
