Cute little man!!! Wow I'm impressed by the little guy's artistic ability! He is adorable and growing right before our eyes...I remember your previous visit. I'm sure you were the best Nanny. ~xo

Inspiring! Sherry- I just wanted to take a minute and tell how great I think your mission is and how lucky I feel to have met you! I'm sorry we weren't able to meet up in Hoi An but hopefully can get overthere to catch up with you soon. The courage youor friends in Viet Nam have is amazing, a true inspiration to anyone. Take care of you and keep on keepin on. -Noel
today I finally overcame/tryin to fit the world inside a picture frame... You travel.
You volunteer.
You inspire.
You write.
You write incredibly.
AND you quote John Mayer.
bruised, not broken From Nguyen's pictures, it is nearly impossible to tell that she is teetering on the edge of life.
Thank you for sharing her story as a reminder of our own, as Shannah said, quality of life and how we live each day!
inspiring is an understatement Sherry - I have known you through J and S for a few years, and knew of your world travels, but I never knew that this is what you were doing.
Clicking into your travelblog has truly inspired me and I am fully addicted.
This story is truly one of the most amazing things I've ever read, and I cannot believe you are there to witness this.
Wow. Just wow.

Peace What a great way to finish up an amazing trip! I know the commute must have been tough, but it seems well worth it. You look so happy and fulfilled. :) I can't wait to see you and hear about all the amazing stories and see your pics. Did you fill up that journal? Get busy only a few more days. Travel safe love!

Light and Love I can't wait to hear about this experience in person. With the beauty of art you brought them a creative experience that I'm sure you both will never forget. You rock my little squirrel!

Appendix removal in Da Nang Hi - I had my appendix removed in a Hospital in Da Nang and the hospital could not have been nicer. Clean, efficient service, Dr spoke english, and refused a gift of $200 cash on my leaving. The whole operation cost only about $150.
what a crew! this is sooo wonderful to meet more of the other volunteers. i did not realize there were so many people involved. it helps to round out the scene, so to speak. how very fortunate for all of you to have all of you! and i mean EVERYONE! kids and adults, givers and receivers...i am sure the giving and receiving goes both ways on many levels.
i can't believe you are now in scotland.

YOUNG LOVE Great blog Sherry however there were just a couple of omissions. You forgot to mention the young love at Third sight that developed before our eyes with Sherry and ???????. It was so nice to see. Also the Salsa dancing class with the locals after Karaoke night. Sherry had them all up moving their hips, well done. Good luck with planting trees in Scotland
Simply beautiful I LOVE THE CHOPSTICK VASE!!! What a creative idea. Though you are only there for a short time, you know that you are leaving the people you have met with knowledge and skills that we help them to continue on with the work you have shared!
The saying is perfect Your blog makes me think of the quality of one's life. It is not how long you live on this earth that defines your life. It is what you do in your life your life that does. We should all live our lives being okay saying "If I were to die tomorrow, I would have lived a good life."
differences after reading your blog, it really hit me how much we complain in this country. about everything - traffic, tax rebates, gas for our enormous SUVS. But in all these complaints, people don't realize how fortunate they are to have jobs to sit in traffic to get to, or pay checks that come to get rebates from and SERIOUSLY car payments that are mortgage payments to some people to put the over priced gas into..... it is refreshing to hear that there is a group of people that don't complain when they don't have legs to walk on for crying out loud! I am happy that you have met them.
Moving WOW! It is painful to read and see such hurt and dispair. I can't even to begin to imagine how it feels to actually be there and witness life like his in person. I commend you for your efforts and for your drive to wake up each day and continue to do the work you do!
Growing Opportunity I am always amazed by people's visions. Some people strive for big houses, big bank account and fancy cars, but what do these things truly give a person. Heip's vision is not only a portrait of a beautiful landscape, but a dream that will pay it forward to others. It is truly amazing what he has accomplished! And boy does he has some bisceps!
I began traveling in my early twenties and found that the experience offered a mind opening perspective of life in relation to the lives of others around the world. Since then, I've explored over 40 different countries, immersed in their cultures and customs, many of which lack the freedom of artistic creation and expression. Recognizing the many opportunities she was afforded in life, like an art education, would become the driving force behind my motivation...... full info
