Dod to Ajax Hi Jack,
I lived in that area for about nine months. I lived in Panajachel. It was really beautiful there. If you get a chance, go to Tikal, very important Mayan ruins. Sorry to hear about your camera. Time to get inventive. Glad you're doing so well. "Como esta used? Esta bien, gracias. Et tu, Manuel?" First (and last) lesson in Miss Monahan's Spanish 101, PS #5. Took me 3 years to get that far.
Love,
Dad
PS Something to ponder while riding on those wild bus rides "Why is it one never sees a baby squirrel, just the big ones?"

I am going to pack around Central America in the middle of January for a length of around three months. I fly into San Jose, Costa Rica and from there I will just see where the wind takes me. I had originally planned this trip with a friend, but he has backed out and I will traveling alone now. I have never traveled outside of the United States before. I am a bit nervous and very excited about it. I hope to meet lots of people and make friends along the way. I'm 25 and I was born and raised in Oregon, USA.

All I could say was "Wow" every time I looked at another picture! If you didn't do anything else, Tikal alone would have been worth the trip!
