Sofia
Hey Jeff, I'm in a little town called Dolen right now, you might (but probably won't) be able to find it on a map, it is in the Western Rodolpi mountains, but it looks like I will be getting back to Sofia either tomorrow (30th) or the 31st, so if possible, we should head out to Veliko Turnavo together, but I won't be staying at Hostel Mostel, so we'll have to connect somehow.

Thanks for journeling your trip so well; I especially enjoy your descriptions of the food. Just where are you putting all your purchases? I can just imagine the size of your backpack! Did you buy some Turkish apple tea?

By the way, Jeff, you look pretty experienced exhaling that smoke!

I just love your descriptions, as well as your photos! Uncle Ray's grandmother had a huge jar of leeches in her kitchen. She would use them from time to time! Because you mentioned the Marmara Sea, I remembered a school friend named "Mara." If we had named one of our daughers Mara, and then traveled to Turkey, we could have said that Mara Klimara sat by the Marmara Sea! Sick joke. Do you think our surname is Turkish instead of Polish?

lmao
Jeff, I agree with your dad. This is hysterically funny.

hostels
Hi Jeff! Theresa hooked me up with your blog. You are having just the best experiences of your life....treasure every minute. You have terrific pics of the food and the places you visited....How about a picture or two of those hostels you described? Some are probably not worthy of a picture, but those who have never seen one are a little curious. Stay safe and save some traveling for when Theresa is there with you.

Hi! Nice to hear from you and enjoy your postcards! Your bathroom stories remind me of when I was in Bosnia and, after being directed to the ladies' room, upon entering I thought someone took out the toilet. It was basically a hole in the ground with a chain hanging from the tank which was near the ceiling. The shower in our Bosnian hotel room worked well, until I stepped out and realized all the water I used came back up from the floor drain and flooded the floor. I do think your bathroom stories are better than mine. Stay safe. I love you.

Hey Jeff! Thanks so much for your postcard! I'm glad that everything is going well for you and that you're having a fun time. By the way, how was the museum of communism? Does it sound cooler than it really is? I leave for China in less than 3 weeks - I can't believe it! This summer has gone by way too fast. I just got my visa in the mail last week, so now all I have left to do is learn Mandarin. Hopefully I'll remember some of what I studied over the past year. I'll definitely update you about my travels in the Far East - maybe I should do a travelblog too? -Jack

Just let me precise that langos is not fried in lard but in sunflower oil and it is not more heart-stopper then french fries with cheese or a Texasburger. Anyway take care and have a good time in Budapest! Peter from Bp.

hey Jeffrey, I love reading your posts because a) they are generally hilarious and b) I know you're having fun. although, I am kind of sad you didn't stop in Slovakia to say hello to my crazy family. you know they would have handed you a drink or eight! (here, I would type out that Slavic toast, but I don't want to embarrass myself with an attempt at spelling it!) stay safe! love you!
