xlwotchi Xc,eschw, mnqtcinc o xchwatz....oh, sorry, forgot you only speak English and Castellano! What I was starting to say is, Skye, Orange dark chocolate, sounds great! I'm a devoted fan of your blog so keep it coming! :-)
happy late birthday (again)! Sounds like an amazing trip is winding up for you! Also for me--I am in Rome, about to get on a plane home to NYC tomorrow. It's been really fun reading your posts from Internet posts in Italy! See you soon I hope, and thanks for blogging!
Happy Birthday Skye! I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. I realize it was yesterday, and i did think about posting all day, but I wasn't able to because we were out and about. Yesterday we hiked around Lake Bon Tempe and had a picnic with one of my old friends from 20 some years ago, and her little chihuahua. I've really enjoyed reading your blog, and of course can imagine everything perfectly. Sorry about your hat. I myself am thoroughly enjoying speaking English almost all the time although my ids laugh at me because I sometimes slip into Spanish when we are in a restaurant or other place with service! Be well with your Dad. Hasta la vista!
speaking the language Don't you love it when something just falls out of your mouth the right way like that! After a week here in Italy, that's finally happening to me again here ... though I know that when I get back to NY and have to speak Spanish again, I'm in trouble! Anyway, I love reading your posts, keep it up!
languages! Good for you, each speaking the language you want to practice! It would be easier to each speak the language you know, and let the other person figure it out...
As for sailing, ask your mom if she read Swallows and Amazons. It was a favorite of mine!
I am enjoying your blog!
Love,
Celia
TacoVillano What a great way to learn Spanish! So it's Skye-dude aka TacoVillano now... can't get any better than that, imho... Holding my breath for Friday's post!
YO DAD! Hi dad! Got your comment! I think that was my math for today. That clarified it. I haven't been doing much math, but I have been doing some and am now in the exercises.
Bubblicious! SkyeDude - Total coolness with the new Bubble video. I like how you announce what's happening and then disappear into the Bubbleness...
Xxxooo,
Dad
Power-to-weight Hi Skye - What a great adventure! Sounds like a blast!
Horsepower is the more or less the same all over the world (1 HP=about 745 Watts). The key to understanding why your Sitges boat goes so crazy-fast compared with our boat at Echo Lake is a concept of Power-to-Weight (or mass). This ratio is a measurement of actual performance of an engine or engine/vehicle system. Sitges boat = 25HP/50Lbs = 1/2 HP/Lb. Echo boat = 50HP/500Lbs = 1/10 HP/Lb. So, rough guess, the Sitges boat has 5x the power-to-weight of the Echo boat. Did it feel about 5x as powerful?
Xxxooo,
Dad
Nope Hi Kathleen! You don't need to be tall enough to do it. You just come to the plaza and get in the foam. I definitely saw grandmas with babies there.
sounds scary! Your literal "blast at the beach" sounds super scary to me! As for me, I encountered a wild boar on my three-hour walk on the mountain in Italy this morning . . . I know that may sound scary, but for here it's just a normal walk in the woods! (He scurried away.)
bubblefest! I loved this entry about the bubblefest! What a terrific idea for a party . . . I wonder if they have such things in the US?! I would certainly take Evie and Thea to that in a minute, and maybe even Leo (though I bet you have to be tall enough to do it, right?)
happy birthday in Spain!! Dear Skye, I am in Italy while you are in Spain and I rarely get to an Internet cafe (am staying on a mountaintop with no access) but I LOVE reading your posts and I am thinking of you as you celebrate your eleventh birthday in such a beautiful and interesting place!! Hasta luego!
Megan!!!! MEGAN!!! It's so nice to hear from you. What you talk about makes me want to go to Thailand. Also, can you email my mom Mary's address? My mom tried to include her in the list of blog viewers, but it didn't work. Hope you like my blog!
Hi Amy! The goal of Ferdinand and Isabella was to unite the country of Catalonia with Spain. Catalonia became a part of Spain, and Isabella began to misuse her power to kill the Catalonians. Since Ferdinand was such a sissy, he didn't do anything to stop her.
WHOA! What an amazing trip you are having! The bubble festival looked AWESOME. In Thailand they have a holiday called Song Khran where the whole city of Chiang Mai shuts down and there is a city-wide water fight with guns and hoses and people pulling garbage pails full of water out of the moat to dump on those who pass by. La Fiesta de Espuma seems equally as fun and exciting. Looking forward to more of your posts. Have fun and thanks for sharing your trip with me!
foamarama Hi Skyedude,
Looks like you are having a great time, we love the photo of you with the foam head!
We are enjoying your blog and look forward to reading more as your adventure continues.
love Janice and Sacha
Hi Mary Hi Mary, just responding to your comment! I will post tomorrow morning in Spain but it will probably be the middle of the night where u are. U are going to love what I talk about!
Niiiice! Dear Skye,
Great job blogging! Love your posts so far. Isn't the ocean at Sitges absolutely wonderful? Perfect temperature!! You MUST try the ice cream bars from the little freezers in the bodegas there--Sonya and I had one every afternoon--they are very very decadent and rich.
And have you come across the gargantuan sand sculptures at the beach? Also, tell you Mom to indulge in a seaside massage -- they are marvelous!
Have to run- boarding plane to Santa Fe! XOXX Rachael
I am fascinated by this blog As one of Skye's many friends and relations, and fellow traveler, I can't wait to read the next installment. Such a simple and attractive format, and written in such an informative and interesting way. Love the doppelgangers~
