South America June 2nd 2009

Next morning up early, and into town. Where we wait for our pick up to the blue cave at the agency. After collecting the rest of the people for the tour, there where one or 2 people that could tell us wat the guide was telling us. It took us about 1 hour buy mini bus to get to the blue cave. Once there we had a little time for toilet and sign in, from there we got really cool hair nets, ok they were not cool at all. That and helmet for the cave, just incase someone fell. We had a 30min walk to the cave after a talk by the guide describing what will happen, a lovely little Italian girl gave us the low down on what the guide said. So we made good ... read more

The next bus heading out was early the next day, us wanting to get to the border and cross over get a stamp then stay the night and next day head to bonito. Got to the border and decided ok this is quite a big place Puerto juan caballero so for 15 000 we get a taxi to go get our stamp, yes stamp done leaving the country the legal way. The whole time the taxi driver was pointing in a direction and mumbling something in spanish. South America » Paraguay » Concepcion May 31st 2009

Ok well time to leave Paraguay. So first idea was to get to asuncion then head north to concepcion where we would take a boat out on the Rio Paraguay and head north. We left Asuncion on the 19th of May after staying in a dodgy hotel accross from the bus station. The Royal hotel for 75 000 Guarinies for a room sharing. O the day before when leaving the bus station after buying the tickets an officer approached us speacking spanish so we were there a while not understanding a word, then we finally realised it was a local prank show because there was a guy hidding behind the tree with a camera filming, haha... OK so on the bus heading on the grand chaco high way known for how bumpy it is, it was ... read more

South America May 20th 2009

So we have got the times and our ticket to Bela vista, after a huge lunch we got back to the terminal where we took the bus to Bela Vista. Getting to Bela Vista 10pm we had another 2 and a half hours to wait for the next bus leaving at 00:30 Chris and I played uno its a card game, then played hakie sackie(a little jugling ball that you kick to each other) ok that was 1 hour. Then the next hour I slept while chris kept chips(He watched the bags so no one stole it) I woke in time for 30 minutes till the next bus. We jumped on the next bus to Jardim, both of us passing out on the bus and only waking up just in time for us to jump off. ... read more

South America » Paraguay » Paraguari May 8th 2009

Paraguari and sorroundings Ok well so much has happened, where to start. So far our adventures have taken us from the small town of Paraguari and we did a small camping trip in some near by mountains or hills really. We hicked up from a friends house up into the sub-tropical forest. Using our pangas or mashettes as some would call them, to slash our way up this hill. We found a dry stream that we followed up hoping that there would be some water. Eventually we came to a spot where some water was seeping out the rocks forming enough flowing water. This was at the base of what looked like a 10m wall of rock. We found our way around and on top top of the wall, where we made camp on a ... read more
