Geo: 41.8861, -87.6364Today we awoke ready to complete our time in Chicago before we moved onto our next stop. As we had to check out we skipped breakfast and headed straight to the Willis tower - which interestingly we discovered was renamed Willis tower from Sears towers as a London company who occupy a floor had requested it and as Sears no longer occupied any floor the suggestion was taken (as Simon would say he who doesn't ask...!) . We took the elevator to the top floor and witnessed amazing panoramic views across Chicago. There was also a glass ledge which you could walk out onto which elevated you to 103 floors from the ground.By now the sun was most definitely up and the temperatures were soaring. Geo: 41.8861, -87.6364After a 13 hour sleep, we woke ready for a day of exploring. So we got dressed and ventured back into Chicago, however firstly our tummies needed feeding. We quickly stumbled across a restaurant which tempted our appeites. Nicky had some delicious french toast with strawberries, whilst Simon had a more traditional stack of pancakes with blueberries. Now we were fed and watered we were ready to explore. We started at the bottom of a road called 'The Magneficent Mile' which was Nicky's idea of heaven - a mile of pure shopping! As we crossed the Michegan Avenue bridge we stopped to admire the fantastic Trump tower which was huge and very impressive. Geo: 41.8861, -87.6364Today was a long day, really it started the evening before. We left Ipswich by train at about 9:15 headed for London. After getting into Liverpool Street about an hour later we caught the underground to Heathrow - finally arriving at the airport at about 11:30.Our flight wasn't schedule to leave until 7:45 the following morning, so we had quite a lot of time to kill. Spending the night in a quite airport with just ourselves, the cleaners, and a handful of other nocturnal souls we set about killing time. A movie, a few hands of cards and a nap later it was time to check in.Everything progressed very smoothly, and before long we were in the air and on our way..We arrived into Chicago at about 9:50am local time - slightly ahead of ... read more
