Time in Kigali Glad to see that you made it to the memorials....I was deeply touched as well. Somehow I didn't attract as nearly as much attention at the bar...:)
Travel Blog Interesting blog Sarah...the beer was definitely needed after that!! All the best in your travels...hope you get your stuff back! Make the most of your time there...good for you!
Excellent & informative blogs! Hi Sarah, I wanted to take a moment to let you know I thoroughly enjoyed your blogs! You are doing amazing work with Vets Without Borders. I am curious as to the process you go through to be picked for these programs? Loved your safari blogs and all the pics! I have forwarded your blog to my 14 year old daughter who is always talking about her future & wanting to do volunteer work in third world countries with such abject poverty. (Our family sponsor's a 15 year old girl in Rwanda as well so have some knowledge of the challenges there). Keep up the good work and much success to you in all your endeavors! PS I'm a fellow Canadian as well!
Ah sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I totally missed your comment till now. I'm actually back in Uganda with VWB again! Last year I just paid my way and knew the program coordinators for the goat project so I just spoke with them about joining. They won't really turn down any free help! However, this year I went through an interview and selection process to be accepted for a 3 month internship with VWB. This internship is only open to vet med students though. Also that's excellent about your daughter! These countries need so much aid and it's amazing that at a young age she already wants to provide help :) If you would like any more info or even contacts feel free to PM me and I can help you out!
What an amazing adventure! Sarah, I am enjoying your blog very much. The pictures are really good and your story telling is excellent! You're a really good writer! Boy, there sure are a lot of people in need over there. I don't know how you keep your spirits up, but you seem very positive and optimistic. So keep up the good work and keep sharing your adventures! Love… Uncle Tim p.s.: your Mom sold me a goat (I hope it goes to good use!).
Roughing it This reminds me of when we went camping and had to rough it. No power at the camp site.
Quite the experiance, Enjoy it while your young. Take Care
Wow! Had no idea that you were heading overseas. We're very proud of your initiative... good for you! Really enjoyed reading your blogs and will be sure to check back often. How long are you there for?
