Yesterday was one of the best days I’ve had here so far- okay, so I’ve had a lot of ‘best days so far’ but still- I got to go to the zoo with the sixth semester group!!! I was so excited that the night before I went out and bought a new (and extremely cute) top :) I was also going to buy shorts *side note* I have dropped about 1-2 pant sizes *side note* but I ended up borrowing shorts from a friend because at the time my shorts were at the tailors getting taken in. The morning of the zoo I woke up excited! Since I’ve been here I’ve never had so much energy after having just woke up. I put on my shorts, my new top, did the usual morning routine (do hair, ... read more

It's already been a month since I've been here and there are so many differences between here and Canada! I've decided to make list of some of the differences; as time goes on I'll add to the list. School I have never really been one to like school so much, but ever since I got here I have loved it!! The school that I go to in Guadalajara is more than I could ever imagine. A lot of the school is open, the classrooms actually have a roof and everything but the hallways are open and there's a big open courtyard on the main level and when you go down the stairs a lot is open too. Even though the school covers a lot of ground, there's only about 500 kids in the high school. It ... read more

Woke up at 6:30 this morning, quickly brushed my teeth, washed my face, combed my hair and put a braid in it, and put my uniform on. I was feeling better than I did yesterday, and by that I mean less tired. By the time I was in the kitchen, Tere's dad and mom were already there. I went to say Buenos Dias but what came out was a croaky, scratching Bueeenoos, Diiass. Ohhh Nooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was definitely sick. Ugh, so this is what I get for having fun on the weekends -___- I had three options: option 1) stay home. This seemed like a nice option but really, what was I going to do all day, I didn't want to be stuck inside. Option 2) Go to the university with Tere. this would be a ... read more

these past few days have been so crazy!! Luckily, crazy in a good way. Friday night was just a chill night, didn't do anything, at least I don't think so lol. Saturday and Sunday, however, were insane lol Saturday: The Start Of It All Woke up to the sound of loud laughter coming through the window and into my bedroom. My bedroom is set up so that its right beside the kitchen/tv room, and I have a big window that sees into the kitchen/tv area. That being said, I don't think the laughter was THAT loud, but it did sound like it. I was still tired and really didn't wanna drag my butt out of bed- hey, I'm a teenager, and it was 7:30am... I can have a lazy day okay?! After spending almost an hour ... read more

Today was the first day I have taken a bus here in Guadalajara! Woot woot! I was told by a few people that it's dangerous and be careful and to basically not take the bus. However, if I'm somewhere where I need to get home, and I don't have a ride home, I NEED to know how to take the bus. Sooo, today after school I went with Charly-one of the other girls doing the exchange program-and her exchange partner Martha back to their house, from which we were supposed to be taking a bus to my house to see which one to take, where to get off and which way to walk. We waited for 2 hours in Martha's house until finally Martha and her mom said that we were going *Really though, two hours?!??! ... read more

The second day i was in Guadalajara, I woke up, got ready, and headed out to meet two of Tere's friends: Ricky and Rafa. We were on our way to Ricky's house because we were going to help Rafa make a giant heart shaped rice krispie for his girlfriend for valentines day, which was on monday. It was quite the adventure attempting to make them and the mess that came with us cooking lol. It was fun though. After we finished with the rice krispie, Rafa went home, and Charly (another one of Tere's friends) came to pick me, Tere, and Ricky up to take us to his house so he could drop off this giant teddy bear he bought for his girlfriend, also for valentines day. We waited on the patio of what I think ... read more

I know I should have started a blog before I left and I was going to but... the days went by so fast and before I knew it, I was already in Mexico and was extremely busy! Thanks to my cousin Danika for having a blog on here and to my mom for telling me about it, I now have this blog here haha. I have absolutely no idea where to begin, as of tomorrow I will have been here in the amazingly wonderful and gorgeous Guadalajara for a month already! Can you believe that?!?!? A month!! I guess I will start from the beginning, and by that I mean the day I first embarked on this incredible trip. It seems like just yesterday that I was double-checking my luggage, adding last minute things and weighing ... read more
