Great ! You describe things so well my feet hurt and my legs are tired. This is fun to go along with you in this way. You look very alive and not like a worn out tourist. We look forward to seeing you when you get here to Bristol. thanks for sharing.
Your blogs radiate with such positive charges that I think there is not a place in the world that you don't find interesting, whether its Beijing or Brussels, Shanghai or Slovakia. I am looking forward for your next blogs on your next adventure.Thank you, very lovely work.
Caged Bird Sings Can't wait to hear more stories over a glass of wine. Hope you have energized your batteries. Don't worry, there are still plenty of challenges here waiting for you!:)
your last day When you read this it's going to be your last day. Maybe you feel sorry about that, but I certainly don't. I'm a bit egoistic now, if you know what I mean. I hope your last day will be as exiting as all the day's before. I'm sure you'll find something special to do. And now, as your trip is almost finished, I and I'm sure all the other readers of your travelblog, will miss your entertaining journals and great pictures. Keep continuing the writing and making photographs.
Have a safe and easy flight back. Can't wait seeing you again in person.
xoxoxoxo, Rob
Caged birds not liberated?! Hi Sally,
Fascinating report - but you should have surreptitiously freed those caged birds!!! No, not really, but once I did that in Japan and got chased by their screaming captor!!!! Talk about adrenaline!
I didn't get to the Summer Palace either, but did go to a mountain with a chair-lift just near it - gorgeous!
Enjoy your final day, and have a good trip back.
Best, James
PS Your photos are also great - truly a woman of many talents!!!
dikke zoen, Corinne.
V sign prachtige, prachtige foto's.
kus, Corinne.
Going strong Nice one Sally, still going strong. I have just been chatting with my daughter in Australia and now a little bit of China. again a good piece. It is a small world indeed although dark overhere. Good luck. A
Ik volg je like a shadow. Prachtige foto's overigens.
kusxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCorinne.
Delicious birds Oh yes, James, I have eaten very delicious birds. Unfortunately, I don't have your vast storehouse of knowledge about them, so it's difficult to describe them! I have seen small sparrow-like ones flitting about everywhere. Also magpies. Nothing that has seemed out-of-the ordinary so far. And I'm not sure how many birds can survive in crowded, smoggy Beijing! Thanks for your kind words . . . coming from a writer/speaker such as yourself I consider it a high compliment!
crazy Yes my dear crazy woman in arms you were right that's me, let's use this blog to exchange email but ask Sally for my email address.
kiss, and are you coming over for Queens Day????? that will be fun!!!!! there is food and such good wine and me of course.
xxxCorinne.
kusje, Corinne.
Where are the birds?! Hi Sally, I'm bowled over by your writing - what are you doing teaching; you should be a travel writer?!!! But I haven't seen any comment on the avian delights of China - perhaps because most birds have been eaten?! Looking forward to a professional presentation on your return! All the very best, James
mmmm dumplings Hey Sally,
Looks like you're having a great time. So glad to have the blog to follow along with, keep those updates coming so I can travel vicariously though you.
MacKenzie
Great!!! Sally, I have kept up with your travels and have really enjoyed them. It does make me envious but I am enjoying your travels vicariously. You have the most interesting life of anyone I know. HAVE FUN.
Your Boat Excellent thinking on your feet idea about Row Row Row your boat. They may not remember your lecture or your Power Point, but I am sure your students will remember the song. You will come back a different woman, not better or worse, just different. We can already see it here in your writing. Everyone should have to experience China Alone! Don't you think?
Hanging in Hangzhou RIDE SALLY RIDE! I am so proud of you for renting the precious pink bike for a tour around West Lake. Hangzhou was one of my favorite places and your pictures have brought back some fond memories. THANKS:) I've read on another page that you have been treated like royalty, you deserve it and SOOOO happy that you are bathing in the joys of customer service and hospitality. Bring us some weird, delicious food back!
First travel blog! Love to travel, been many places, never been able to keep a travel diary before though not for lack of trying. Now that I've blogged my trip to China, I know this will be the first of many.
