Geo: 40.7614, -73.9863Up early today, need to get some washing done otherwise we will have no socks or underwear! Weather somewhat unpleasant, RAIN but no snow, however a considerable temperature improvement at 3 degrees.Found a Laundromat not far from the hotel called Zanussi at 750 10th Avenue so not too far away, so ff we go. Everything left to be washed so now we are off by taxi again to Upper Midtown heading for the New York City Museum first today to check out the history of the city.....it looks so interesting! Plus they put on a free breakfast from 10:00 to 11:00 so why not ?Had a great time at the museum then headed out in the rain to the sub-way on the corner 103rd and Lexington. Geo: 40.7614, -73.9861Just woke up, now 07:20, quickly checked outside the window and yes it's a very bleak day, -2 degrees and snowing so the kids will be very excited again when they finally wake up. Will obviously put a dampener on our tourist activities and restrict our views from the tall buildings we were planning to attempt today! Any way it's a holiday so let's just enjoy whatever we can..Breakfast this morning is on the cheap, cereal from a local deli, bowls from the little shop downstairs ( they were very kind) and spoons from Celina's handbag collection. Geo: 38.8921, -77.0241Snow still lying around but very sunny temperature much colder than yesterday -7 but feels like -15.8. Now we most of our bags we can repack all the "emergency purchase" have breakfast and make our way to Union Station.I spent the first two hours chasing down Emma's missing bag, on phone to United plus many emails. The bag is in Washington somewhere but we are leaving at 12:00 noon for station. United appear to have it in hand and we expect to finally see Emma's bag sometime whilst we are in New York. In the mean time we have had to purchase 3 more suitcases online because the locks have all been busted by TSA and are now useless, they are being delivered to our hotel in New York within 3 days so by ... read more

Advised once bags delayed 24 hours we could purchase emergency clothes etc to value of $375 per adult passenger but would need a "Property Irregularity Report" from United to be able to lodge the claim which we can't obtain until case closed.Not to miss an opportunity, off we went in haste to Macy's. Cold 1 degree but felt like minus 7 but we really need to get some underwear and at least a jumper. Today we have just 4 hours to check out the sights of Miami before heading further south to Miami International for the flight to Washington DC (via New York - Newark airport)Up @07:00 and all packed and ready to depart at lunch time. So it's time to grab a cab and first stop Miami beach to take In the.atmosphere and have breakfast. Had a great breakfast (see the evidence) only $8.95 each but after coffee & smoothies & attendance fees it cost all up $76 so will be careful next time! They even offered Mojitos here for breakfast (see photo). Geo: 25.78, -80.2185Hired a Hertz Rental for the trip to Miami. 7 seater Dodge SUV. Picked it up from the Marriott Courtyard Hotel (25 minute taxi ride) and had to get used to driving on the wrong side of road quickly & surprisingly I found my way back to Art of Animation Without a hitch.After having a quick breakie & packing the car (it all squeezed in, but only just-we now have 3 large , 2 x medium! Sports bag, 4 x back- packs & of course the handbag) left Art of Animation around 09:00am and headed for Kennedy Space Centre! aided by the navigator on the phone. Almost there and you guessed it the fuel alarm went off, fancy renting out a car with less than quarter a tank? Luckily we found a BP And ... read more

Geo: 28.3507, -81.5482Another big sleep, up at 08:00am and off to breakfast before 09:00am then off to Animal Kingdom. Weather is great and is currently 26 degrees. It was a relatively quick bus ride today, stopping off at Blizzard Beach (water park) to drop passengers, then on to our destination. Geo: 28.3508, -81.5482After sleeping through to 10:00am we were up in a flash,showered and shampooed before dashing off on the walk to breakfastBreakfast complete onto the bus for the trip to Magic Kingdom. What a crowd! We stopped and watched the Festival of Fantasy Parade before experiencing Stitches Great Escape. Then it was of to Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover for a monorail ride. We got organised with our Fast Pass whist ration on our Magic wrist bands and successfully missed the first ride. We saw now in a standby queue and have been for about 60 minutes waiting on Seven Dearf's mine train which is now temporarily shutdown for technical difficulties. We did however receive a Fast Pass redemption ticket for our troubles. Oh well, off to more walking and a ride on Dumbo the ... read more
