Very impressive, Frrrrrreddy! Well-done, well-written, and well-told. Thank you.
I ran the Broad St. run in Philadelphia on Sunday -- America's largest 10 mile run with 40,000 runners. No turns, just straight down Broad St. from North Philly to South Philly. Good fun.
Bubbie loves the pictures It's great to see you having fun in Israel. I liked watching Ezra & Adin feed the birds and seeing kangaroo jump onto Aimee. The boys look so profressional playing basketball.
love Bubbie
Tiberius Marathon Congratulations Fred! Thanks for the detailed description of the marathon that had both the normal marathon routines but was also infused with an historical perspective, wonderful surroundings and a total family experience. Wonderful!
The accompanying pictures amply demonstrate that you are all enjoying yourselves. You all look so happy!
Take care!
Good on you. To finish and in such good time after worrying about an injury is indeed a mitzvah and more so for including all of us in it. As I said to you when I saw you in Vancouver your Blogs would make a great book - "A year off in Israel" and would I think be interesting to everyone, not just family. Looking forward to seeing you again in May ( our schedule is May 10th and 11th - but we can't leave the car in Ashdot after 3 and the ship doesn't leave until 11 pm. Can you find our for me if we can fly from Tel Aviv to Alexandria on Sunday - that way we could spend Shabbat with you as well and catch up to the ship 4 days later - all we miss is the day at sea ( saturday).
Etzba hagalil Your blog brought back fond memories of 1979, hitch hiking from Kfar Blum into Kiryat Shemonah--the 'big city'. You could always tell when a Kfar Blumnik was going into town, because they would tuck in their t-shirt. Of course, you had to get dressed up for KS. Never knew who you might run into...
Hockey Night in Israel The latest Connecting - national newsletter of Cdn Friends of Hebrew U. in Jerusalem - Vol 9 Issue 1 - has a feature article "Hockey Night in Israel". Apparently CFHU has established a scholarship program to allow promising Israeli hockey players to study at HU in Jerusalem. The article talks about Metulla, the 8 team Israeli Hockey League and the Israel Recreational Hockey Association. The program was sprearheaded by Cdn businessman Sidney Greenberg of Astral Media and sponsors include the NHL and Air Canada. Check www.cfhu.org/sidney.

I can smell the challot from Magdanit Pe\'er from here! You blog has stimuated the \"memory\" cue of my olfactory senses and I am there, walking down the alley and down the stairs to the close little bakery, thoughtfully choosing my whole wheat challot--and the rest of my goodies for Shabbat.
As to the boys. Sounds like they\'re right on track. Study hard in \"vav,\" they\'ll be leapfrogging over you by Channukah!
Tzom kal. G\'mar chatimah tova!
Just read your back to school blog, and love it. We got back on Tuesday, and I am just now getting through collected email. what a treat to share your life in Israel. Made me feel I was walking the streets of Safed again. Barry and I have perhaps bought art in your pictured stores, as four of our favorite art pieces are from there. (plus our Challah covers).
I hope that the boys continue to love school.. can't wait for the next installment of your blog (which might already be in my in box, without my getting there yet.) Love, Sharon
Born to Blog Fred and Aimee and boys- kol hakavod on your assimilation. Your blogs are a great read. Check out Yakaar Schul as well. Very nice KabShab tunes!

Great Challah story Loved to read about your settling into to your new life - new names! new experiences.
Loved to four legged and feathered friends as your compost.
Enjoy the adventure,
love ~ Sharon
I dig the hamburgers too. God bless you for the blog. You make us feel like we are there, without the effort you expended to pull it off! Definitely a book in the making. And tell Ezra I too love the big Macs which are yummy (and gigantic) in Israel, so much better than those in America, which I would not eat. A good break from falafel!
