Had to read this! Like the saying "You should never walk past a pub with your name on it", with a blog title like that I had to read further! Lovely photos, and I definitely agree with taking some down time while travelling. :-) Scarily I didn't have to ask what a carriage return was....
Another awesome journey... Wow Rita - this is so cool. You know me and water - not so liking each other but this looked so neat. Glad you had a great day!
Getting IT! Rita...
I Know you have No Earthly Idea who I am, But I fell Compelled to Drop You a Line. I Live here in Anchorage and have been following these Alaska Travel blogs for a number of years, to get different ideas for my Poetry. I dont usually Post Comments, but I would like to make an Exception for You. I have noticed tht most people give a Cursory overview of what they have done, what they have seen, eaten Etc... You seem to be the Exception. Not only do You See Alaska - You allow the time to Sense Alaska's Beauty and Magic, to Let Alaska Soak you through and through... Then Put Your Thoughts and Perceptions into Words with Deep Feeling and Compassion. You manage to Reflect into words what Alaska Really IS! Something that most visitors are either unable to express, or are Oblivious of (Sad). The Real Magic of Alaska is How it Makes One Feel! It is So Refreshing to Read of Your adventure and Hear how it Really makes You Feel! Thanks for Getting IT... Welcome to Alaska, Miss Rita... ... ...
Thanks Thanks Willy and welcome to the blog. I wish I could keep up with the posts to my travels but there is so much. I am glad it is of greater value than just my capturing a memoir so to speak of not just what I did and have seen but when I get back home, the ability to recapture what I felt. And if it works for others like yourself and my family/friends to know I am safe, it is all goodness. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope you will visit again. And hope you will help when I miss on identifying something correctly, etc.! There's so much history and culture here, please feel free to keep me honest :)
Rita
Wow I have enjoyed the pictures and stories. I even set the beautiful glacier picture as my new desk top. The different colors of blue jumped off the screen. Glad to see you are embracing every moment. Be safe. Julie
Your blog Take lots of pictures and leave notes along the way, where you stay, thank you notes, meet the locals, ask questions,
we have lived here since 1990 and I still do not know everything there is about Alaska. the locals have lots of great stories to tell especially in Talkeetna. We stayed at a great bed and breakfast "Gigglewood" in Willow as well that I really enjoyed
HOpe you love our State as much as we do.
Deborah

Gods Country Looks like your on the way to a once in a lifetime adventure. You are alot closer to Dad now. I'm sure he will be watching over you and there every step of the way.
Psalm 8 I immediatley knew what song you were talking about!!! Here's a psalm I thought of too!
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Just short of 10 weeks to explore Alaska, meet the people, experience new things and reflect, taking stock of life in the process. I feel very fortunate and am so very grateful for this opportunity.
