Day 9 Contiki Ok, I'm going to start on a pissed off note. I just typed up a really awesome blog and for some reason this blogging website logged me out and deleted my blog entry....angry much?! So now I'm going to write a short blog....sorry guys! Left Italy this morning to head for Switzerland - Lucerne to be precise. The view is just amazing, and I'm not one for scenery so you know it's good when I think it's amazing. We had a boat ride around a lake to check out the sights. Amazing again. Got some sweet as photos aswell that I'll put up soon. We stayed in an old prison which was pretty cool. The room was very very average, but it was a prison after all. The food was.........not good. Lettuce drowning ... read more

Day 8 Contiki Sooooo, having trouble remembering details, it w3ould apart I do have the brain of an 98 year old women (thanks Tez-dag-millionaire). We got into Florence around midday and headed to see the "outside" version of David, whilst we waited for our photographer to show up so we could get our group photo. Clearly, the photographer was in no rush and took her sweet time. During this time, I took some photos of these mime guys. Then they got the wrong idea and gestured for me to approach them. I turned around and was rude and quickly moved away. Creepy bastards. Then the photographer finally shows up and and takes 2 photos that take up about 5 minutes of our time - wow....glad we hung around for that one! Following this we decided that ... read more

Day 6 and 7 Contiki (11th and 12th) Clearly again, we left Venice early to head for Rome. Finally we get to use the phrase "When in Rome....". We got to spend 2 nights here, which is great for many reasons. 1 - we don't have to pack our bag for one night and worry about getting enough sleep, 2 - we get to do some hand washing (fun times all around....NOT!!!) and 3 - more time to see the sights and soak up some of the busy Italian lifestyle and crazy driving. The first day we saw quite a few sights - the Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and the Piazza Novona. all very cool, I will upload photo's when I can so you may enjoy too. hit up a Gelato shop...but I didn't have ... read more

Day 5 Contiki We once again got up nice and early and left Innsbruck (I hope that's how you spell it) to leave for Venice. Had a nice boat ride over to Venice where we jumped on some gondalas and went for a gondal around the "streets" of Venice. Was quite nice and relaxing. I love love love the old buildings. Downfall of the gondala ride was that our gondala man didn't speak to us the entire time and kept speaking to his fellow gandala men, which made it weird for us to talk, as we kept feeling as though we were interrupting their conversation. After we gondaled we went to a glass making store, where we firstly watched how they make the glasses and shaped nick nacks. It is insane how quick they do it ... read more

Contiki Day 3 So we left St Goar at very nasty hour to head for Munich. On the way we stopped to visit the Dachau (excuse poor spelling) concentration camp. Wow was that intense. It was bone chattering freezing when we went and we were rugged up. The poor Jews and criminals of the state that were housed there against their will must have been freezing....especially since half the time they either wore nothing or light cotton shirts and shorts. It was horrifying to read about and wwatch what those poor people indured during the Nazi rein. After we finished at the concentration camp, we continured our bus ride to Munich. Upon arrival we met with Sammi, our american walking tour guide. She was insanely funny. She showed us some old school churches, residencies, statues and ... read more

Day 2 of Contiki Ok - just wanna back track for a min....cuz I forgot more stuff from day 1. We got stuck in hardcore traffic congestion on our way through to Amsterdam and ended up neally 3 hours late off the bus (I was stuffed at this stage and didn't think I'd make it out). We missed out on our canal cruise, which sucked, but Greg...our tour manager guy, apparently has hooked us up with some form of cruise or something in Switzerland to make up for it. We left Amsterdam early the next morning to head to Germany. Ok so we got into St Goar in the late arvo and went straight to a stein shop. We were informed of the history of the steins in St Goar and the differences between their steins ... read more

DAY 1 of Contiki Ok, firstly, apologies for the EXTREME delay in posting blogs. Europe SUCKS for free internet and also I haven't had much of a chance to update due to running around like a nutcase in freezing tempretures. As I forgot to bring my diary with my notes in it to the computer, I cannot recall it if was during this day or the next day, that we were able to do some nick nack shopping. Got some sweet gifts though, yay for gifts. We left the Royal National hotel at 7am. We took the ferry across to France - but didn't stop to admire it's glory (saving that for last we are!) We drove through to Belgium where we had a service stop and some food etc. It was freaking cold there also, ... read more

Greetings from London, My eyes are having a lot of trouble focusing on the screen, with and without my glasses - so I apologize for a dodge post. Got into London at 6am-ish on the 3rd of Jan. Was freaking cold. Started on my Original bus tour and I desperately just wanted to go home, I was so cold and tired (I managed no more than 3 hours very very broken sleep). Then I decided to stick the bus tour after like an hour and a half and I went to the NAtional Art museum - where it was very wam. I had a hot choc and looked at some old school paintings and didn't feel so cross anymore. Then I went on a London music history walking tour....which was sweet as. Got some good photos, ... read more
