Heritage Prevails
Good for St. David's becoming a city again. What a beautiful cathedral. If we get to this town we will definitely try that ice cream!

Skomer Island
Wow, this place looks incredible. After my Scotland trip in the summer, I think puffins have become my favourite birds! They were very few and far between to spot up there though. So wonderful to see an island just full of them! And congratulations both on your wonderful happy news! I imagine the little bairn has been born by now, so congratulations on parenthood! ?

Puffins
The island really is incredible. I suggest you add it to your bucket list if you are a huge Puffin fan. Thank you! She's nearly 3 years old now. I am so far behind on writing up my blogs, but have actually nearly caught up! As you can imagine, I haven't done much travelling since she came along :D

Beijing
Thank you for taking me on such an amazing journey through China, Alan. Great to read you had a wonderful time during your first Asian experience, and what a choice of country to start off with! I remember visiting the Forbidden City in 2002, and walking through the huge complex thinking it would never end! I also remember enjoying feeling like a minor celebrity to start with, but then getting a bit irritated myself with all the looks and attention everywhere. Glad you had a wonderful time there, and thanks for an amazing read and journey Alan ?

Absorbing Beijing
Wow, did a great deal. You use every minute to the fullest. This location is still on our list. Who knows how many years it will be before they open up again. The Temple of Heaven certainly looks beautiful.

Beijing
You really managed to pack in a lot of major sites in Beijing in such a short time, Alan...well done! Yet just a smidgeon of what Beijing has to offer. During the Opium Wars in the 19th Century the foreign Allied armies gave the Chinese an ultimatum that they would destroy one of the major sites if their demands were not met. The Forbidden City was on the list. That you saw it in the 21st Century is testament to good fortune that the dice did not fall on its destruction back then.

Beijing
I'm glad you feel I managed to see a lot within my short few days in Beijing, it is a shame I couldn't have had longer there. I'm so glad the odds were in the Chinese favour and I managed to see the Forbidden City. What a magnificent place to be able to visit

Great Wall of China
Wow, some pretty impressive shots of the Great Wall Alan - well done! And great to see you were able to get so many empty shots, and ones of you alone too. I also find it frustrating at busy places trying to avoid having other people in my photos. And well done on the 4/7 Wonders of the World! You're past halfway now ?

Xi'an
Great to catch up again on your China blogs Alan ? A great read as always ? Wow, I had no idea that there was a Muslim population in Xi'an, and also a Chinese-style mosque - very interesting! I think you certainly did the right thing in trusting your instincts and turning back when you did, well done. Lovely to hear of the child with special needs taking a liking to you, and the picture she drew for you. I think I would also have been tempted to buy a life-size model of a terracotta warrior!! ?

Xi'an
Thanks Alex :) I am really glad I followed my gut instinct too, usually I don't and end up regretting it. The Chinese food was probably the most tastiest that I tried in the Muslim Quarter purely because of the different spices they used there. I recently found a shop selling official Terracotta Warriors in Cornwall, although not real-life size ones, but much bigger than the one I purchased in China. I can share the details if you're interested and ever down that way.
