Ireland Love your pictures of your trips. I came across your site while I was researching for a trip to Ireland. My husband and I are going in Ocotober of this year. I found the information about using Galway as a base very helpful. We are doing the day trips out of there and out of Dublin. We will be using Healy Tours. I hope you enjoy your stay in England. I went there in 2004 and loved it.
WHAT?!!! So, no shout out that you were 'chatting' with me while you wrote this?! :) Just kidding... Congrats, again!
I just got back from the Congress to Campus luncheon. I miss you sorely! xoxoxox
Have some fish and chips for me. :D
The Duchess Hi Rachel, It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. I enjoy reading your blogs. I went to imdb.com and here's what I found regarding The Duchess...Plot Outline: A chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, duchess of Devonshire, an ancestor of Princess Diana who was alternately celebrated and reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives.
A Real Education I think everyone is getting a little education with your "study" abroad semester. Based upon your blogs, you are a super candidate for an internship at the British Embassy in Washington, DC. I hardly recognized President Helm out of "uniform".
making the most of it! sounds like you're really making the most of your time abroad, Rachel!
a couple of places to add to your list: The British Museum (I think that's what it's called), that has lots of antiquities swiped from around the world; the university and cathedral towns (Oxford, Canterbury, etc.), the coast, out in Wales, or down in Dover.
Sooo I should be studying for my midterm that's tomorrow, but reading about your trip to Scotland is much more interesting!! Sounds like you're having an amazing time, wish I was with you!!
travel blog Maybe Grandmom Tess was right....maybe one day you will be a writer or journalist. I felt like I was right there with you enjoying the beauty and mystery of Scotland and the ghosts!
I should be studying... I have an exam in less than two hours, but reading about your experiences is WAY more interesting! :) I will be keeping up with your blog (so KEEP the link in your profile). You have a really good balance of entertainment and academic thought. I think Gambino would be proud. I am SO super jealous of you right now, but am trying to contain it. HAVE FUN, discover yourself, and explore the world! xo
great blog! wow! fantastic first blog post, Rachel!
sounds like a really neat place.
it will be interesting for you to get the political science perspective of a different country.
have fun!
I'm spending the semester at Royal Holloway University in Egham just outside of London
