your cruise We have been on one cruise to Alaska and are planning on going back in 2016. Loved reading your comments and I agree the Crab boat tour was great. We went on a Holland America cruise and it was really nice.
Galapagos Luxury Yacht wow really you show the images and the information which is related to Galapagos is really very nice i think those people who are very fond of traveling will enjoy to this place very much.
re: Michael Sara Hi Bill,
I also like Michael's music, and have finally uploaded a video of him to YOUTUBE. You might enjoy it. Now all I have to do is find an address for him so I can also send him the link.
Cheers, Larry

The qumran jars I have become interested in the Dead Sea Scrolls and had a question on if any of the jars from cave 4 still exist. An online inquiry brought me to your blog and the nice pictures. Where was that picture taken, were they the actual jars or replics and were they explicitly from cave four?
Where is Michael Sara? I've been waiting to book another cruise, however, only want to go when and where Michael Sara is entertaining. Does anybody know can I get in touch with him to find out his schedule? I've been trying for months to find him. Does anybody know if he has an email address? Thank you, Carma
Try it this way... Sounds like you had a great trip and it is great that you got to see so many of the Islands. A nice way to sail around the caribbean is also on a Private Charter Yacht. Check out different options at www.jkyachtcharters.com
location Very pretty and different scene , but where on the Island is it located? If I get off a Cruise ship can I get to you fast? Where are all the black sand beaches?
Thanks
Good Day,
We've never met, but I am a Bermudian who is studying native and endemic flora and fauna of Bermuda. I also work at the Bermud Aquarium,Museum and Zoo. I don't mean to be rude or anything but I was surfing the internet and happen to come across this link for this image that appeared on google.com of the Match-me-if-you can bush. I wanted to inform you that this species is actually not native to Bermuda. It is an introduced species (imported) and has been favored among Bermudians as a hedge plant. Lastly, you are correct it is used as a medicinal plant as well still by some of the locals.
I hope that you have enjoyed you stay on the island. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Ronald Burchall
Wow, your photos from the Galapagos Islands were incredible!!! I desperately wanted to go there while I was in South America, but couldn't quite swing it. Hopefully next time. My blog is looking for travel reviews, photos, etc, to share. I would LOVE to post some of yours if you'd like to share them with our readers around the world. Of course, you get photo credit. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)
Impressive I am impressed with your Blog, congratulations for the willingness and the adventure pace you and your husband have. I would like to comment about your South America Cruiser... Do you remember the City Blumenau, a small part of Germany in Brazil?? what a coincidence, I used to live 50 miles from Blumenau, in Rio do Sul... the world is really a small place....

Cruising in the city of London Great photos of London. We've got a Malaysia Airlines crew who visited the city and she wrote a wonderful story about her trip.
Do read her blog story "Cruising in the city of London". She gave insights about the public transportation in London.

Foreign Laboure in U.A.E. I recenly went to Dubai and saw first hand the very large proportin of labour that was from foreign contries. I dissagree that this is anything like slaverey. The guys I spoke to said they get 2 year contracts and they get double pay compared to where they come from. They said they stay in Work compounds that have dorms of 8 people per unit with shower and ablution facilities. Every one I spoke with said they do 2 year contracts and at the end are flowen home. Most said they hoped they had worked hard enough to get a second invite. A Balanese guy said his job had prety much saved his family because work had dried up after the Bali Bombings. This guy rated the place. I dont think that is slaverey. They are not 50k salaries either, but one things for sure, it is work and they make much more in Dubai than they do back home.
Appreciate your blog entry Having been there recently I appreciate your comments but I have a slightly different opinion. I have traveled to over 65 countries over the years. Whenever I travel to a foreign land I usually try to stay away from the tourist traps and try my best to immerse myself into the local culture in order to get a genuine feel of the place.
I did exactly that during my recent trip to Dubai. When I looked past the obvious wealth and opulence I saw a totally different picture. The first thing I noticed was that a large percentage of the population were non arab - mainly from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. After doing some research I found out that these men were cheap labor who were recruited to build those modern sky scrapers and malls and perform all tasks that were considered menial and could not be performed by the locals. I was shocked to learn that these laborers are treated like slaves by their local arab masters. Once these men land in the country their passports are confiscated and they are basically at the mercy of their employer. They live in camps out in the desert with no basic facilities. There is usually one bathroom/toilet per 20 individuals and the conditions are appalling. They are bused into the construction sites around 5:00 AM six days a week and work until 6:00 pm and then bused back to their camps.
So I respectfully disagree with you that Dubai is a "forward thinking" country/emirate. They might be forward thinking in the material sense but from a human rights perspective there are problems that are barbaric in nature. I will even go as far as to say that slavery in the true sense does exist in the emirates along with blatant racial discrimination towards the "labor class" mainly from southeast asia.
Response from Linda Very perceptive, Big Mike! Each team of dogs is connected to two sleds, with a musher and a passenger in each sled. The picture to which you are referring has me in the rear sled, which is attached to the front sled by cables. The four people in the sleds exchange places periodically so that everyone gets a chance to be the "lead driver" behind the dogs. Thanks for reading the journal and for your comment.
Welcome to our travel blog, where we will post photos and journals of our traveling adventures around the world. We have visited all 50 states and 105 countries, and most of those journals and pics are already archived in an old-fashioned, printed volume. I began this more-modern medium of chronicling our travels in January, 2005, but I'll also go back and add earlier trips we found particularly enjoyable. In the photo on the left, we are on a whale-watching excursion in Alaska.... full info
