Geo: 51.251, 4.49777Wat later gaan wandelen vandaag en nu het winteruur is ook wat sneller donker, dus vandaag een kortere wandeling. Blijkbaar een iets minder populaire wandeling, om 12u nog maar 420 inschrijvingen tegenover 1100 in Malle om 13u.De wandeling begon prachtig door het groen, maar eenmaal aan het Albertkanaal was het gedaan met de leuke paadjes. Redelijk vaak langs een drukke baan gelopen, zelfs eenmaal langs een park. Gelukkig hier en daar toch nog een stukje natuur maar al bij al iets te veel villawijken en te weining groen of bospaadjes. Het stuk langst het kanaal was dan weer wel lekker ontspannend. Een wandeling die je voor zeker 90% met de fiets had kunnen doen verkiest niet echt onze voorkeur. ..... read more

Geo: 51.2285, 5.31367Omdat we nog niet vaak in Limburg zijn gaan wandelen en omdat de naam van het gebied ons , en dan vooral mij, wel aanstond zijn we vandaag afgezakt naar Lommel om daar in het Kattenbos een dagstapper te wandelen. Al van in het begin een prachtige zonsinval door de dunner wordende bladeren. Eerst een heigebied door daarna tussen weiden en velden. Ook een vlinderwei gepasseerd maar te laat op het jaar om daar nog van te kunnen genieten, de metalen vlinder stond ons nog op te wachten. Dan bos- en heidepaadjes, wat lastiger om op te wandelen. Op het einde nog een molen gepasseerd en dan terug naar de parkeerplaats. Prachtig gebied waar we zeker nog eens terug komen ook omdat er voor de verandering eens veel geocaches op de weg lagen. Geo: 13.7308, 100.521Our holidays don't seem complete without getting somewhere just in time. For this trip we kept it till the end, we just made it to our dinner cruise in time. It sounded simple. We had to be at a pier, our hotel is close to the river and there are riverboat busses, so we just had to take one of them. One small problem, they put us on the tourist boat instead of the express boat. The people from the cruise called me to ask where we were. Lucky enough we were able to change boats and we were at the right pier at 6 o'clock, exactly the time we had to be there. Turns out we weren't the last one, still picked up some people at the same pier 20 minutes later.The cruise ... read more

Geo: 19.91, 99.83We visited the white temple, official name Wat Rong Klun, near Chang Rai today. I honestly don't know how to describe it. White of course, with so many glittering inlays that it's painful for the eyes, almost put on my sunglasses. The carvings or statues are rather bizar in the trees around the tempel you can find heads. The inside of the tempel is very modern and up to date, on one of the paintings on the wall, we saw Spiderman, Superman, Elvis, a Mignon but also the 9/11 attacks on New York. I can only advice you to google this temple or ask us nicely whether you can see our pics and enjoy some Thai food, coocked by me or take out.The same artist also has a clock tower in the city so ... read more

Geo: 19.5785, 99.8058You have to do something on the bus...Writing this at the riverside with in front of me only threes...Came to Tha Ton today by local bus, took around 4 hours so we arrived at our location before it got dark for a change. Tha Ton is a very small village close to the Burmese boarder. Here you can take the boat to Chang Rai, what we are planning to do tomorrow, that is if there are enough (4) people going, otherwise it won't depart.This is a very beautiful spot with a strange wat up on the hill (of course) with a few gigantic statues and a cave. The view from on the hill on the village and the river is amazing.... read more
