Peter & Janes Euro Road Trip 2012

Join us on a road trip from Wivenhoe in the UK across Europe and into the Dolomites.
Leaving via Folkestone on the EuroTunnel we enter France at Calais, stop for lunch and pick a bottle or two or six of champagne at Epernay before heading off for our first overnight in Baden Baden at the top of the Black Forest in Germany, the pleasure of a Spa awaits..................
From here we travel south through the Black Forest on the scenic route, stopping off at Freudenstadt and finishing the day at Totdmoos in the southern Black Forest.
The car we are taking is our trusty 2010 BMW 120d M Sport, ideal for this type of journey, comfortable, powerful and with the recently added BMW Performance Power Upgrade should make enjoying the twisty bits even better.
From the Black Forest we take the AlpineStrasse across southern Germany heading towards Schaufhaussen to visit the IWC watch manufacturer and who knows, purchase a special watch............... from here we head over to and across Lake Konstance where we spend a few days exploring Berchetsgaden and the Eagles Nest. From here we head south through Austria and down through the holy grail of alpine passes, the GrossGlockner.
Our destiniation for this road trip is Val Gardena in the Dolomites.... great drive, and walks awaits.... and we are still only half way through our trip.....
From Val Gardena, we head north and head for home, up through the Romantic Road in Germany, heading for Adenau and the Nurburgring, we are here for 2 days, the plan being to once again pit my wits on the Nordschlief (and we all know what happened there.......) the second day planned to explore the hidden delights and views of the Nordschlief on a bike. We head home via the Hoek of Holland, a welcome overnighter before we hit Harwich and a short trip home.
