Maliau Basin
Greetings Yes Yien, there is short trails in maliau basin the best time for birding is very early in the morning at the sky bridge if you are lucky you'll spot the borneon bristle head and gibbonns..there are hornbills as well. birds are abundant..if you fancy wild life than you should take the night drive along the road in maliau basin. trakking in to the maliau falls is tough so if you fancy short walks the best is to be around the study center. from your blog you are a birder i suggest also kinabatangan this is also good for birders.

Hi moilton
Greetings Yes, its about the same in danum the arrangements of permits and conservation fee the accommodation is very basic dormitory rooms. only problem is getting in to the area as there is almost no transportation enters maliau basin unless you go through the sabah foundation or make your own way there by chartering a vehicle and it must be a 4x4. the tracking is fantastic hard work but views and trails are way batter than any other tracking sites in sabah.

Many Thanks
Hi Brandon, I would like to once again thank you for all your support during our trip to Borneo and specifically to Maliau Basin. For sure it made a big difference for us. We could not have had a better experience. Everything went smoothly and the 5 days in the Conservation Area was an experience for life. It is something we will never forget. I hope one day you come and visit us in Brazil. We also have fantastic dirt bike riding there. :-) Best wishes, Matheus Vidigal
