Founding of Mabel Downs Cattle Station Margaret May 'Mabel' Bridge was a 10 year old girl who took charge of a four-horse wagon in 1895 and rode with her family of five (including a newborn baby) 3,000 km from Normanton on the Gulf of Carpentaria to Halls Creek where her father staked a claim of 709,000 hectares named Mabel Downs in honour of his amazing pioneering daughter.
Wishing you fun and lasting memories in the making! How long are you away for? What a great thing to do with the whole family!! Traveling together as a family can give you some of the best times and some of the worst times but it will definitely be memorable!! I'm sure you'll have mostly great times!! Lots of luv.
