Ashly (Norhwestern Ashly).....
Parentals Hey - so glad you put all of the pictures up, Myrth and David. I know it's very time consuming for Ross and Nys to do it. Your trip looks amazing..and I'm sure this doesn't even do it justice! Glad you got to check in on them and have a great adventure! xx Emily
Nys/Ross - amazing pics! The rafting looks crazy and bungi jumping even scarier. It looks like you guys have made a great impact on all the natives you've met so keep up the good work. and keep the stories coming! have a great time with your family on safari! PS. what are you doing for christmas?
nys and ross! i have just been catching up with all your adventures! so amazing. the pictures are gorgeous, too. i can't believe the experiences you both are having. thanks for keeping us updated, it whets the appetite for more stories when you finally return home. i love you, and absolutely can't wait for the next entry! stay safe and healthy, and best of luck in the new placement...till you write again!!
oh wow I can't believe you're already moving on to phase II. Excellent- you were getting too good at your lives there- we need a few more surprises. Ross- I take it you have not gotten the Kenyan flag tattooed on to your back yet? Have a safe journey to Zambia and check in when you arrive (that's our old style, Nys!). I miss you guys xx
miss you Hi Nyssa,
It's so wonderful to be able to share some of your experience through your blog. What an amazing experience. I can't wait to show the pictures of the animals to Sam and Juliana in the morning. Sam is going to be Puss in Boots for Halloween and Juliana is going to be a bunny or butterfly. We all miss you and wish you well. Love you lots---Go Red Sox (they're in the world series) Beth
Angelina that's your new name. Ross, we'll call you Brad i guess. but you guys better start adopting. you have a lot of competition. It sounds like you are really touching people out there...including but not limited to prostitutes. nice. i cant believe you've been there 1 month! what the hell have i done this past month? nothing good that's for sure. well, keep up the good work. stop getting malaria, stay safe (no rhino encounters) and keep making people smile (or laugh at you....). miss you guys! al
loving reading your blog! ross, know that i'm praying for you. malaria is pretty hard core, although i know plenty of people who have recovered from it just fine! rest and take all the meds.
!!! yay!! so fun to hear the details of what you are up to just a few countries north:) also so good to hear your voice on the phone the other day! we used, like, all of your units, didn't we?!? anyway, i also found myself dancing with a bunch of prostitutes the other week...how are we to know these things?!?! can't wait to see you...much love, ann
Hey guys! I just read your blog and actually shed a few tears. The story about the curious little boy who sat next to you was so heartwarming. I truly admire what you are doing. You guys should feel so proud of yourselves...miss you angelina :-) Happy 1 month Anniversary!
Amaz Sinclair Yoooo, excellent pictures. Keep them coming. I also like funny comments to go with them when you can... so while you're sitting there, just uploading, maybe you can be witty too, Ross? Don't tell me you've gone and got all serious on us...
You guys look great- I miss you!
xx Em
HI!!! Nyssa! You are amazing and I am sure everyone you meet over there is so grateful for your time and compassion. I so admire you working with hiv/aids patients and advocating for them. Ugh, I feel worthless in denver. Love all the stories, def. write as often as you can! miss you!

Finally much better. i cant believe all the stuff you guys are doing and the people you are meeting. hopefully you can teach them that women are actually much stronger than men. your mission Nys. Its really gross you dont have running water - is that really the reason you're not posting pics? well, i'm so happy things are going so well and you guys are alive and without disease. we miss you guys so much. i'm already starting to plan the welcome home party. get ready.
WONDERFUL! hey ross and nyssa! i love reading your little stories from africa...it placates me a bit (not being there, that is). i am SO excited for you both. i love hearing about the the crazy african predicaments you're getting in...SO Africa! it's quite a place, huh!
