Hurricanes... Looks amazing Nik! Think you're going to be a bit disappointed by the tourist-fest that is Barbados after being spoiled with such secluded exotic locations. Also there happens to be Tropical Storm Gaston heading straight toward us and due to hit Wednesday...but hey, all excitement eh?? Looking forward to seeing your smiling face on Saturday, much love xxx
Looks like you are having an amazing time!! Awesome to get the updates :-) Nothing major going on here... not sure if I told you but I got a new job - I am officially a lecturer now! Loving it. Something I have always wanted to do... awesome not to be sitting behind a computer all day! (Although I would definitely prefer to be in Costa Rica now!) And we have also bought ourselves a house (when I say house I mean... small ... and when i say small i mean tiny... 2 bed flat....) but still very exciting! Anyway, thats just a little bit of news from damp London! Good to see you having such a great time and embracing it all! xxx
Yippee! (for me)... ...but not for you because I'm your last leg (so to speak) - but it means I get to see you soon!! When do you fly in? I can't wait to hear about all the adventures. These pics are amazing, definitely makes me want to explore Canyonlands. And I never knew you were such a Ray Mears :) Travel safe lady and I look forward to seeing you very soon for some restful beach action before home xxxxx
Wow I see that we missed a bit first time round...;) The canyon land looks amazing... :).
Thanks for putting these up darling, I know it's quite an effort where you are... well done, much appreciated xx
Hey, girl! Hey Nikki - I'm really happy that I got to share part of this adventure with you; you are a completely awesome person, and such a fun traveler! I hope your book/travels are going fabulously. After you explore South America, I expect oodles of advice and a phone call! (P.S. I remember taking those photos of you!)
I think of you often...
Much love, Urte
Hello Nikki,
this crocodilio story was unbelieveable. We also went to Chitvan , there were lots of them just laying on the river bank but I was so sure that they were not interested in us, if I new.....
Your story reminds me so much of our travel and it is sooo long ago. Now we are just sitting at home taking care of our home and kids.... So enjoy the travel as much as you can and take care,
lots of love from Lenka
Well i certainly remember this differently; your account is too cool and composed. The beast JUMPED! I duck, it got you, you fought it off. BRAVELY! I kid you not. DRAMA!!!!!!
What a gal! Heath, you're actually reading it? Unbelievable... thanks doll xx xx. Will write more on Mr Crocodile, but it might not be for Esmie ears just yet ;o)
Miss you lots - hopefully see you soon!!! x x xx
croc... Yes, you're not alone wanting the full story on the crocodile - I think I'll ham it up a bit and make a 'soap entry' from it!!
Very glad it's coming up to your holiday! Probably one of the last people to get to the preserved state of Cuba... Have a great time - I've heard that Havana is a pretty cool party town! x x x It'll be spring when you return :o)
Croc Now now you can't just leave it as "we got attacked by a crocodile" and not give any more details!! Rhubarb, I want to know the whole story! Oh and you're not fooling anyone with that photo of a plastic rhino by the way.... Miss you lovely xxx
Pooon! Lovely pic of you in front of poon hill Nikki x Spring is desperately trying to break through here, but winter still holding on... Am off to Cuba in less than 2 weeks, can't wait and will alleviate some of the jealousy i've been experiencing this end watching you on your travels! ;-)
quick hello Hi Nikki,
I sometimes quickly check your blog mainly the amazing photos, but never manage to read everything or write any message to you (even now the kids are screeming around). I really envy you your adventure. I hope you are enjoying this wonderful travel. Recover soon, thinking of you Lenka
Hey Nikki, sorry to hear about the foot :-( I guess it must look a bit like a hobbits very large feet - minus the other foot and the hair of course :-P. Can feel the energy and enthusiasm coming from your writing and your photos!! You are clearly having fun :-) x
You go girl! Nikkers
So glad to read the update on your “Nikker-less world tour” .

fabulous darling... Beautiful photos - particularly stunning Cape Maclear 061 - also love the train journey and the camera lovers, and most of all the sun-chair outside the Gecko Lounge - ahhh, could just chill in there right now with a good book and escape from all the snow and transport pandemonium here... Thanks for the fun read too - pretty interesting times hey? Glad you are having such an amazing time - enjoy and stay safe :) xx
ps: and keep writing...
I'd like to spend some time in Mozambique... ...the sunny skies are aqua blue! Ah that song has always made me want to visit :) Cape Maclear looks absolutely stunning, could definitely stay there for a few days! Nik how come you're the only traveller I know who has used hitching a ride on the back of a bicycle as a form of transport?? Ha ha ha, if only you had a photo of that!
Looks like we're going to stick around in the 'Bados after all (will explain in a proper msg) so come on over baby! Would be great to have you visit. But I can't get the number you posted on facebook to work, any chance you can put it up again? Happy new year my dear, happy and safe travels for the next leg of your journey. Loads of love xxxxxxx
NO WAYS!! You are kidding - Andrew and I were at Gecko Lounge only a few days ago - we spent our honeymoon in Malawi and arrived there on the 2nd of Jan!! I cant believe we crossed paths within a couple of days!! Gutted that we didnt see you! Thanks for the update - keen to catch up on your travels - will read it all now! xxxx
overdue comment.
Well, where to begin?, It's late on sunday/monday morning the 4th of 2010. Christmas is done with, thankfully. Been out procrastinating.
Thank you for calling me on the 22nd. I'm a little weary so I'll keep this brief. I need to consider. Love you x That's where to begin.

toes What, the whole chicken?? That is a neat trick... are they really small overthere?? Was he prepared to demonstrate? (perhaps NOT!!) Wonder if the lions were listening - I bet they thought - yah, and we can debone you and all... :)
Wonderful pics - thanks, what an adventure! Glad you are shedding your inhibitions and getting your toes out ;) xxxx
