Roatan Island, Honduras. Outside Temp 29 Degrees Celsius(not sure what it was with Humidity) Water temp 29 Degrees Celsius We woke early. Ship was really rocky last night first time I can say I felt the boat move at all. The nice thing about waking up so early is the Gorgeous Sunrise, another perk of having a balcony, sitting out in the hot weather enjoying the sunrise. As we were getting closer to Roatan the view was great looking at all the Islands and I got to see a sea Turtle just swimming along side the ship. Never would have saw him if I hadn't been out on the balcony - Money well spent. We docked at 10 am sharp then everyone off the boat what a crowd of people. It amazes me how organized the ... read more

Today is the day. After months of planning today is the day, this is our very first cruise. I have no idea what to expect very much looking forward to the experience and seeing our friends. We opted for a 930am arrival at the Port of Miami, we thought we would get checked in and then explore the ship and get some good pictures before it was over run with people. Check in was pretty smooth and then we were sent to the holding area to wait. We waited and waited, not sure what the hold up was but it seemed like there was a snag with customs or something like that. A lot of official people going on the ship and some employees coming off the ship. It delayed the process and they stopped checking ... read more

Up at Dark O’clock… We left St. John’s at 500am, I could hardly sleep I was so excited. We checked in for our Westjet flight and we winged our way to Toronto. We had a good few hours in Toronto so we made our way thru Terminal 3 and on to the US Wing and Customs. There is never a dull moment as it seems they pick me everytime for random searches and the like. I believe its because I look so pissed off in my Passport photo.. ha ha. We were able to catch some breakfast at the airport restaurant, we ordered via iPad provided at every table. Which was great you could use the iPads to surf the web check your email or your flight status.. very cool. I love the way they are ... read more

We are making our way across the Island, we started in St. John's and drove over to Gander. We stopped for the night and resumed our trek on our way to Grose Morne National Park. We left Gander in the Morning and drove west past Grand falls and came across King's Point, I had heard there was a nice size iceberg out that way. We turned off the TCH and headed for King's Point. A few minutes later we all we could see was this humongous Iceberg so close to the shore, it was amazing. This is the biggest one I have ever seen, it was drawing quite the crowd to this small community. People were snapping pictures, one guy jumped in and swam out to it he was braver than I that water is pretty ... read more

On the way back from Ferryland we popped into LaManche to hike a little on the East Coast Trail to see if we can catch some Ice Bergs. The East Coast Trail has 265 km of trails on the Avalon Peninsula. The trails are very well marked and it is wonderful to get out in nature and get some fresh air. We only had to hike in about 2km's before we rounded the corner and saw several ice bergs in the cove below. We could hardly wait to get as close as possible to check them out. We had some smaller bits as the biggest Berg was smashing against the rocks pretty good.. we could almost reach out and touch them. It was amazing to see them so close and made for some great pictures. The ... read more

I just recently moved to Newfoundland and never spent much time touring around this beautiful province.. So I thought I would show some of my day trips to those who may not get a chance to visit. Today we visited The Ferryland Lighthouse on the Avalon Penninsula, a 1 hour drive from St. John's. Nice leisurely drive lots of ocean views on the way going thru various small communities until we reached Ferryland. I had reserved a lunch picnic at the lighthouse which by the way is recommended as in the summer season things fill up fast. We made it to the parking lot and started our trek up to the light house.. It is a very easy walk a road big enough for one car it takes about 10minutes or so to get up to ... read more
