Feeling so bad for you
Linda so sorry you have not started feeling better. Glad they were so kind to you. Hope you are doing well very soon. And... yes, I agree... no political questions before the BP.

Recuperating in Tawau
Isn't that silly? I am never sick and never have blood pressure problems, but lack of food and water sure can lay you low. I had fun at the clinics. The second doctor really thought I had too much freedom and needed a man to monitor my activities and make wise decisions for me.

Sick on the road
It is never good being sick when traveling. It sounds like started feeling ill before you got to Brunei. I wonder if it was the burger at Burger King that started things. Did it have lettuce on it? Anyway, hope you are well now and were able to enjoy diving Malaysia. Glad the airlines took care of you.

Sick in Brunei
Yes, I think there was something about the food at Burger KIng. I trusted it because it was familiar and a big chain and in the airport. No lettuce. But sad to spoil my visit to Brunei.

I missed this blog...
perhaps as you only entered Europe for the location. I also walked the Camino de Santiago..in Sep/Oct 2016...and just some stages as I hurt myself coming down the Alto de Perdon.

When in transit stay in transit!
Wow, what a story! Something similar happened to me and my Mom upon arrival in Shanghai. She was 88 years old, and suffering a bit from the long flight from Chicago. China was just starting to experience the H1N1 virus so were screening all incoming passengers, taking temperatures while we were still on board, and making us fill out information cards. Mom checked that she was feeling nauseous and had a headache on the card. Of course she was pulled out of line. Fortunately they believed that these were just symptoms of stress, not H1N1 and let he go after a couple hours. Subsequent tourists were quarantined for weeks, including a family with children who were picky eaters. They refuse to eat Chinese food, until the third day as they were nearly starved. They found out they loved Chinese food!

Diving solves all problems and cares. I'd say you should not stop by China anytime soon. Glad you are now in a happy place.

Chinese immigration tips
I gleen from your blog a salutary lesson that overstaying your tourist visa in China can bite you for five years, Linda, notwithstanding how minor the breach may have been. Lucky you got out of there it seems...but it did cost you significantly in the hip pocket as you were forced to purchase alternative flights. Thanks for sharing.

Papua New Guinea
Hey...I don't know if this is just because I have the "hundred day cough" also known as "the chicken cough" but I have lots less trouble with ears and throat if I avoid the chicken and eggs and cold drinks in hot climes while diving.
