Looking Good Hi Guys!!
First off, missing you! Second, you guys look great and happy. I can't wait until the day I can follow in your footsteps to see the world. Keep the pics coming. Questions... Where's the food? You've been to so many places but I don't see much food. Cheers, Rico
blog Tres interessant. When you leave Greece, are you by any chance visiting the old dart before you go (I think) to see Uncle Sam? We arrive in the UK on the 26th Sept. Where will you be then? D xx
bloggo Pictures were a little dark, but very interesting, just the same. I tossed up whether to do a 'blog' on our trip around the UK in September! but I don't think I could find enough time to 'google' up all the info and copy it! I will just stick with photos on Facebook, I think. Sue and Binksy looked well. Glad to hear you are enjoying yourselves. Easy on the cheesy! xx
So far Looks like you guys are really enjoying yourselves, and lots of photos, too! Weather still excellent - hope it holds out for another month at least - we leave Oz on the 22nd Sept for the UK. How do you know all these interesting facts about places out there, Mr Google? Keep taking the tablets - they're obviously working! Dave xx
Lascaux I was fortunate to visit several grottes in the area around Les Eyzies and Lascaux was the last one I saw. The man who was one of its discoverers, Jacques Marsal, took me in to see it. It was quite moving, as you can imagine. Must have been 1982 or '83. I hope you can see this exhibition while you are in Paris. I am envious!
Enjoyed your post Sounds like a wonderful month in Paris. Most I've spent there is three days. Wish we could have joined you - 5 weddings this summer, we've been to 3. August our grandkids will be here. September a motorcycle trip to Colorado, and October hopefully Machu-Pichu!
Gay Paree (I think that's right!) Looks like you're having a good time. We had snow in Southern Queensland today, but it's only cool here in Wide Bay, still warm enough for some of the younger ones to dip in the Ocean. Another cold front on it's way, I believe. So, no sympathy for those high temperatures. Try not to embaress yourselves! No need to reply to this (Why change the habit of a lifetime?) xx
Locaboat the best Could it be the captain and crew and not Locaboat. About to embark on 3rd cruise, Aquitaine this time after Canal du Centre and Latoral Canal de la Loire. As for pump out stations, holding tank on Penichette massive - pumped out at end of season. Two previous barges perfectly presented and well equiped, mechanics outstanding. Looking forward to another awesome week.
Enjoy your trip, we love France. Bob, you're obviously the "captain" and certainly entitled to your views. When asking about the holding tank, we were told that the holding tank was not in use as there were no pumpout stations on the Garonne canal. And, 8 people a day for several months create a lot of effluent!
I really take my hat off to you two "old farts"! Intrepid travelling for the more mature - did you not do OE? I love reading about your adventures and have come to realize that's partly because as another "old fart" I could never do what you are doing, go guys!
