In mid January, Anne and I traveled to southern New Mexico and Arizona for a few days of hiking in some of the areas with decent winter weather. We flew into El Paso, TX, and drove to Deming, NM, before traveling on to Bisbee,AZ, and then on to Phoenix, AZ where we would catch our flight home. We hiked in three main areas – City of Rocks State Park in New Mexico, the Coronado National Memorial near Bisbee, and the Superstition Mountains near Phoenix. I’ll include a page to cover each of these areas with pictures from the hikes in each place.

Anne and I started our hiking trips back in 2001 and have managed to get two or three trips in each year since. Most of the trips were part of our quest to hike in all of the US National Parks, a quest we completed in 2015 with our trip to Alaska and the Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk Valley parks. At that time there were 59 parks. Since 2015 we have revisited some of our favorite areas and those have been blogged as well.
