Hey everyone !!! So i am back in Dar Es Salaam and in an internet cafe that is extreemly slow but because I love you guys so much i decided to update all about my vacation in Zanzibar and about my upcoming adventures. I believe i stopped at us hanging out in Kendwa. Emily and I decided to stay a second night in Kendwa and go snorkeling in what we were told is the most beautiful area to snorkel on the island. As we were walking the streets a lady came up to us and showed us a business card and told us she can get it for us for cheaper as well as rides back to stone town. We asked about her in the hotel and the people in the receptions told us she is ... read more

So i am back ... wow i am proud of myself 2 entries in 2 days ... don't get too used to it! So i decided to continue my story about Zanzibar while i have decent internet. So we are in stone town (i believe thats where i stopped the story) and at night we go to the film festival its called ziff and its the African International film festival and got to see great music and movies ... we watched a movie about women in Sudan that if they have pre marital sex and they are found (aka pregnancy) they are to be lashed 80 times and that is also for the male. when the male finds out he then ignores the woman and denies having sex with her and does not take the responsibility ... read more

Well one of them used to be here for school for a semester so she took us to one of the close city and we got to hang out in a more Americanized area. The mall had American food and actually American and European market that had all the general food we have back home. We didnt buy anything because we figured it will be eaten by the animals ha ha. We then went to eat and we got hamburger, fries, pizza, and pasta! it was really good i guess i am getting a bit sick of ugali and beans or rice and ... read more

HEY!!! So first ... shabbat shalom. Ah its Friday and that day i miss home the most because its a day to spend the dinner with my family! So now i am missing my family so much because i have no one to bless over the wine and so on. Ah also wine is an issue because Africa does not have grapes so i will have to go to a western store in order to get some. The past few days have been half exciting half boring. being in the city is tough because there is not much we could do. we just tend to play with the kids and if they need help doing homework we help them. They have shown me how to cook the rice and ugali which i am not a big ... read more

Its been rough first days i must admit in Africa. Just with the culture shock and the bad luck of cutting my leg and then getting it infected to the whole stealing my money but now i think i know a bit better. I had good past two days. I guess i just had to accept it that its just going to be harder here and not as comfortable. i mean i always knew it in theory but its one thing to know and one thing to go through it. So the past two days were pretty good i got to hang out with the kids more now that i am not as jet lagged. They taught me how to make new kinds of bracellets which now i know how to do pretty well! And they ... read more
