Frida and Credit Cards Would you believe I took high school students to a Frida Kahlo exhibition in Los Angeles. We had quite a robust discussion before and after the field trip. No parents complained, and the trip was certainly memorable for the students. We, too, had our credit card compromised two years ago. However, we didn't have much trouble re auto payments. But I keep a keen eye open for such intrusions.
cockroach I saw thousands, maybe millions, of these huge cockroaches in a large cave in Peru! We thought we were crunching nut shells dropped by nut-eating parrots and such. Nope, the flashlight revealed a carpet of these cuccarachas inches deep. We took off for the opening of the cave. The South=Insects!

J: (as we passed a street named "College"). Does Tallahassee have a college here, like Texas A&M or something?

Beach Experiences Michael,I look forward to your posts. I lived in Newport Beach on the bay side. Early mornings and late evenings were my favorite. We could hear the surf at night. BUT...people people people cars, etc. I do hope our precious reserves are protected from People (except for nice visitors). Right now I'm smelling the air of beach and waves. Thank you. We had 5" of snow..spring snow...that will dissipate rather quickly. Our road, though, is slippery and will turn to mud..also slippery.
DARK MONEY DM is my go-to book as a reference to what our political system has become. Enjoy. I did, in a way. Jane Mayer, the researcher and writer extraordinaire, gets five stars.
AUBURN Evelyn's son-in-law (my nephew-in-law) graduated from Auburn. It's definitely a SOUTHERN university with all the attending baggage...in my humble liberal opinion.
Georgia We will be landing in Atlanta and renting a car the end week of May. Then we will drive to Augusta. Then back to the Atlanta area for the wedding of Evelyn's granddaughter. Words can't express.....my dread of traffic, heat, humidity, and wearing something I'm likely not to wear again so I can look presentable at the wedding.
Idiots--and evolution I have to trust that these are one shot, brainless idiots and that they won't prevail. If they do, then maybe the human species is just not as advanced as we think it is and we deserve a more animal existence. ...
