Still in Texas! Yep. We are still here in Texas. After spending a week at the Motel 6 paying buy the night. We decided to move next door and pay a weekly rate. This motel has a small fridge and a microwave and the room is bigger. Best of all, it has a courtyard with a playground. The kids played out there all day today. Annie is doing great at basketball. Since they have a goal here, we rode the bus to Walmart and bought a basketball. I think Annie may be a basketball star. She loves making those baskets! My Goodness! I would never have thought that taking a road trip would be so much work. It is supposed to be a vacation, an extended vacation. I have been planning this trip for months, but actually getting out of here has been quite a task. I thought two weeks would be plenty of time for the kids to withdraw from school and be in enrolled California by March 2nd, thereby missing only 5 days of school because the schools in California were out the 16th through the 20th. We may get there by Monday. We will not be making as many stops as I had hoped, and we will be taking a shorter route. However, we will be see sections of the Historic Route 66 , Sedona, Arizona, and the Grand Canyon. I plan to ... read more

Decisions Delay Travel Too many decisions!!! Which route? Where should we plan to stop along the way? What places are worth going out of the way to see? What should I pack? Which vehicle is best to drive? Should I take the cat and the dog or just the dog? What should I do with my other cats? What places will the children really like? Should I really go? I don't know. I do know that I am determined not to let doubt interfere with my decision to go. I may have to start flipping a coin every time a decision has to be made.... read more
