Hi everyone, So... last week we visited a beautiful little town called Daylesford. We spent two days here exploring and relaxing in a spa before heading to the Great Ocean Road :-) Driving along the Great Ocean Road is by far the highlight of my whole trip so far! Nothing has beat it yet! We spent two days along the Great Ocean Road and were lucky with the weather on the first day - beautiful sunshine and clear skies to view the coastline and 12 Apostles, however, the second day we had torrential rain and thunder storms... It added to the excitement of the trip I suppose! It was nice to view the same sights in two different lights and it did make the driving slightly hairy/ interesting on the way back! The photos I have ... read more

Hi guys! I have uploaded some photos for you of my day trip today to the Blue Dandenongs on Puffing Billy (a very cute old fashioned steam train). As you can see, I wore my rain coat today... tomorrow is the last official day of summer :( Huff! I hope you are all enjoying getting back into classes! Just a couple of messages... A big CONGRATULATIONS to Francesca and Georgia for getting accepted into the English Youth Ballet's casting of Giselle this year, very proud of you both. How exciting! I can't wait to find out what roles you have been given. Thank you all for your lovely emails, messages and in some cases video footage of you dancing in class! It's great to hear from you all :) A very smiley Miss Jo! Lots of ... read more

Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne » Philip Island February 12th 2014

Hi gorgeous dancers, I had a lovely day out to Phillip Island where I met some very friendly kangaroos and wallabies :) I tried to take one home but unfortunately you're not allowed to do that, not sure why?! I have attached some photos for you all to see. After a lovely day exploring the beautiful beaches and taking in the lovely scenery I visited 'Penguin Parade', this was extremely special. There is a part of Phillip Island where you can view wild penguins returning from a days fishing at sea to their babies in their burrows. They are the world's smallest penguin and are quite simply called 'Little Penguin' or the Australian's refer to them as the 'Fairy Penguin' because they are so tiny! They arrived home in small groups. One or two penguins would ... read more

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the start of term? I miss you all so much! How is it going? It would be great to hear your updates. So, now for my update... I have been staying in the City Centre of Melbourne for the passed two weeks and have loved it. Melbourne is very quirky and there are lots of weird and wonderful things to discover in the places you least expect. There are lots of little lanes that are fab... lots of places to eat and drink and of course the tennis! I was lucky to attend the quarter finals for two days at the 'Rod Laver Arena' for the Australian Open... thankfully it wasn't 40 odd degrees like the week before. I'm not sure I could have sat through it otherwise! ... read more

Hi from Melbourne! Just a quick message to say that I have been in Melbourne for a few days now... I will be updating photos next week for you all :) I haven't seen much of Melbourne yet as I have been spending all my time in the library for a degree deadline that is looming for this coming Monday. I am definitely exploring after that! Quite thankful for the air con in there actually :) It is SO hot here at the moment! I am going to the tennis quarter finals next week (Tues and Wed) but the temperature is due to drop a little by then, thankfully! Poor tennis players, playing in this heat :( Lastly, I would like to congratulate all of the exam children that received their results from last term. I ... read more

Hi everyone! I hope you are all looking forward to the start of term and starting classes again? :) Here are a few photos of my time in Sydney so far... I leave for Melbourne on the 11th January, driving via Canberra (the capital) where I will be staying the night before finishing the drive to arrive in Melbourne on the 12th - thankfully they drive on the same side of the road as we do! I went to see 'La Boheme' at the Sydney Opera House yesterday evening, it was quite something! Hoping to catch the Australian Ballet Company in Melbourne. I hope you enjoy the photos... I have explained what they are and where they are on the actual photo. Lots of love, Miss Jo xx... read more

Happy New Year to everyone back home! I hope you all enjoyed seeing in the new year - what did everyone do? The start of my 2014 was definitely a memorable one. We went on a boat cruise around Sydney harbour and watched the fireworks from the water, directly opposite the Sydney harbour bridge and by the Sydney Opera House. Pretty special!
